Who would you like to see compose for Super?

Post by JoshuaSaiyajin » Tue Apr 28, 2015 11:53 pm

Although it seems likely that Sumitomo will compose the score for Dragon Ball Super, who would you prefer to do so?
I would personally love if Hiroshi Takaki composed the score.

My dream is for Yuki Kajiura to compose Dragon Ball Super. But I know that will never happen.

Realistically, I'd like for Hiroyuki Sawano or Yasuharu Takanashi to compose Dragon Ball Super.

Kenji Yamamoto....but obviously that's a no go. Why'd he have to get caught?!

Because plagiarism is bad.

YASUHARU TAKANASHI x1000000!!! He already composed this little piece for Kai:

His work on Shippuden is awesome.

It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

That track that Yasuharu Takanashi did for Kai 2.0 sounds like every other track he did for the OST of Shippuden. But I won't lie that Yasuharu Takanashi is a very talented composer and I wouldn't mind it if we got him in Dragon Ball Super.

This theme is fitting of the Legendary Super Saiyan Devil, Broly!

It sure is. Again, why'd he have to get caught?! Why couldn't this just be one of the great kept secrets we all just agree to not talk about so he could continue? It's like in Metal Gear Solid, when someone told Kojima the theme sounded like some old Russian song, so Kojima changed it for 4. With Kenji, I mean...at least he had good taste?

Well, Shunsuke Kikuchi of course. Same as I would love to have Seiji Yokohama for Saint Seiya.

Kikuchi. His tunes from Z Movie #13 sounded very modern and cinematic so he'd be a far better choice than Sumitomo. Let's not forget also Tenchi in Tokyo which was composed by Kikuchi too.

Sumitomo's not very good in comparison to most other whom produced music for Dragon Ball shows and games.

Sagisu Shirou has some variety in his repertoire, but his work might be too good for Dragon Ball. Sagisu's music is mature and thoughtful while Dragon Ball is 'irresponsible'. If Dragon Ball ever gets to do a more 'mature' and 'thoughtful' series under a more talented director I would like to see Sagisu work on it.

I guess that leaves Kikuchi Shunsuke, but he is all but retired at this point. Dang.

Of course, in a perfect world I'd want nobody but Kikuchi. But since it seems like he's not gonna be an option, I wouldn't mind Hiroshi Takaki from artists who have worked on Dragon Ball. Outside of DB, I don't know who'd be able to do the series justice.
