My YT is in some ways more of a mess, because of the platform... For example, if I wanted to add download links on each video, update the titles with your numbering scheme, I would have to load each video, one by one, and change the info, which would take hours.

Now, did you say “DBs are glowing” might be a released track?

Oh, and just to make this more difficult, heh, the track “Fond Memories” actually has a rare third version, which is more similar to the one I called version A. I gave up on trying to rip that one because the differences are so slight (extra mandolin/guitar/chimes or something iirc) and I couldn’t get a handle on what the full original was supposed to sound like, let alone a clean set of rips. So be on the lookout for that!

idk? The file title is what it was called, someone trying to game out missing catalogue numbers. This happens with plenty of tracks that were released (like "Pilaf's Desert Palace"), and they even apologize in the liner notes for not knowing the catalogue numbers.

Your version of "The DBs Are Glowing!" (version B) has sfx in it but the other one I found sounds like it could have been recorded from vinyl or something. I don't actually hear scratching but there's definitely static. That said, I've noticed that official releases occasionally have bad sound quality, like all they had was some old tape that had deteriorated too much to remaster properly. (Seems like it would be par for the course at Toei.)

Yay! lol, it was the same with "The DBs Are Glowing" which we already discussed, and that's aside from the sfx confusion there. Anyway, I've only done 11 episodes so far and I already know it's going to be a long journey. I hit a snag (idk if A-1 has any elements of Kikuchi in it or not) so I'm taking a break to make track pages with some boring music theory shit that maybe 3 people will read. And also track usage tables which will hopefully have a broader appeal.

Silver's Plea

This one is from episode 34, and it's a soft variation on M108 (the Bond rip-off). There's some other stuff in there too! I think this is the first one I've found that was marked by kenisu, but is completely missing from your collection and YouTube (not counting K-44, the Glowing Dragon Ball variation I had to rip). I did my best to rip this one; I ended up having to remove the stereo track in addition to the dialogue track, but I think all the music parts are there.

PS:

Oh! I'm dumb. Apparently kenisu split it into two tracks, and you ripped the full track elsewhere. (That's one of the downsides of having to do this chronologically; I won't have a good grip on the full picture until I'm done. I'm sure you had similar issues and you've already worked out most of the kinks.)

Yep, iirc kenisu eventually starts counting them as the same thing. He calls the other part “Tracks.”

I don’t have “Pasta’s bombs” at all from the first film. I think that’s the only one; somehow I missed it. It came up in an early Z episode/really late DB episode I was watching and it really caught me off guard because I didn’t recognize it. I’ll probably add that one in a day or two.

I finally got to Movie 1. I'll probably be working on it for a couple of days, but for now: the extra "A DragonBall!" piece I ripped earlier (K-44), which debuts in episode 3 and is used several times between there and episode 43 - it shows up in Movie 1 where kenisu calls it "Si Xing Qiu". So you did rip it! It's just not labeled as such on kenisu's episode tables up to episode 43. I'll have to see if he uses "Si Xing Qiu" for it after this, or if he still uses "A DragonBall!"

Hello again! This might be common knowledge, and if so I apologize, but "Ninja Murasaki" is on the DVD Extras menu for Disc 1 of the Funimation RRA single release, and it might serve to patch the worst of the sfx in your rip? There's some lingering voices that it won't cover, though.

That's screen-recorded audio because I have no idea how to extract it; it doesn't show up as a chapter on the disc (which is often the case on these old DVDs).

Wow, that’s a find. I wonder how Funimation got that, unless it came from a clean section of their music and effects tapes. Do you know if any of the other old DVDs have stuff like that?

All the saga and season DVDs have Kikuchi BGM on the menus. Some of them are cut really strangely (like, even more strangely than this one was cut), but there are a few unreleased ones. "Ninja Murasaki" is one of my favorite BGM, though (in terms of composition and performance) so I got excited about it. Of the DVD menus I've documented so far:

--All of the saga main menus use A-1, and some other menus use officially released tracks
--A weird cut of "Enemy Has The Upper Hand" is on Disc 1 of the Tournament Saga, Language menu
--"Dark Alley Murder" is on the Tournament D1 Extras menu
--"Sexy Girl Music" (w/accompaniment) is on the Tournament D2 Episodes menu
--"Ninja Murasaki" on RRA D1 Extras
--"The Chase Is On" on RRA D2 Episodes

--"Collapse" is on the Blue Brick Season 1 Main menus
--"Do the Boogaloo" is on the Season 1 setup menus (lol)
--"The Thrill of the Flight" is on the Season 1 D5 Extras menu

That's as far as I've gotten because there's music on the General Blue DVD menus that I haven't catalogued yet. So I'm going to finish up Sumitomo (almost done) and then get back to documenting Kikuchi.

PS: Someone else could almost certainly do a better job recording that audio than I did. Maybe someone could even figure out how to rip it straight from the disc. I tried - I ripped every chapter of every disc title separately, and all I got was menu art with no audio. But all I know how to do is rip chapters or groups of consecutive chapters with mplayer.

My rip of "Sexy Girl Music" is a little rough; not in terms of clarity and completeness, but because the dynamics are all over the place. Having that rip from the DVD menu might be useful. I guess everything is weirdly cut because they had to cut around SFX.

Collapse and Boogaloo I took from the blue brick menus from the start.

That one unfortunately lacks the ending. The sound is a lot more mellow than your rip in general, but it's especially noticeable in the sax. This screen record is better than the other one which I might redo later. That was like the 2nd time I have ever used OBS and this was the 3rd:

You say mellow, I say muffled! In mine you can practically hear the guy’s lips on the reed.

That middle section with the Bass only plays once (though it is in your recording), and I was very surprised when I got to it because I had previously though the track was much shorter. Because of that one time, happily, I was able to put the whole thing together.

Okay, here is a better recording of Murasaki:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YdzKrP ... sp=sharing

That's the full track. After that it loops. Also here's the weird cut of "Enemy Has the Upper Hand":

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1crwQ4J ... sp=sharing

And "Dark Alley Murder":

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CaEVph ... sp=sharing

And "The Chase Is On", which I missed before also has "Army Attack" on it:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LtQJZn ... sp=sharing

I know you don't need those but I wasn't trying to create mysteries here for anyone who might be reading the thread.

Moving on to the General Blue Saga.

The D1 Episodes menu has "Red Ribbon Strategy" + A9.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YEuZsu ... sp=sharing

The D1 Language menu has "Up To No Good" from Dr. Slump. I was worried about this one; it sounds like it could fit in with the RRA stuff so I had to go verify it's from Slump, and thankfully I found it in Episode 4 which saved me a lot more searching and I'll just trust kenisu on the rest. (Most of the Slump tunes in Dragon Ball are variations on Wai Wai World so there's not much else to check. While I was looking for "Up To No Good" I also heard "The Norimaki Residence".)

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XP92A8 ... sp=sharing

The D1 Extras menu has "Angry Blue".

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mNChie ... sp=sharing

The D2 Episodes menu has "The Spying Spider" + "PK-Powered Ropes".

https://drive.google.com/file/d/18qrKvb ... sp=sharing

The D2 Language just has M107.

The D2 Extras menu has "Why Watch The Bay On Baywatch?" The beginning loops a few times before it gets into the meat...and then it fades.

For Angry Blue I wonder if that would cover up the voices in my rip.

Sadly no! It's almost comical how it skips completely over that part. But I will continue recording all the saga sets' unreleased BGM so there are no mysteries.

Moving on to Commander Red, which uses the exact same music for each menu on both discs.

The Episodes menus use "At A Loss".

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZDLSwh ... sp=sharing

The Language menus use "The Wilderness Of Karin" + "Karin Tower" + "The Love Between Father And Son".

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U7p_uQ ... sp=sharing

The Extras menus use "Somethin' Ain't Quite Right Here".

I am back with the Fortuneteller Baba Saga, which might actually have some useful stuff in it!

The Disc 1 Episodes menu has a string of 4 tracks: "An Unusual Dessert" + M114 + "Centipede of the Future" + "Attack of the Sabre-Tiger". The Tiger one sounds a little clearer to me than your rip, but you will of course make your own determination.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LsoDJ3 ... sp=sharing

The Disc 1 Language menu just has A11 + A9, and Disc 1 Extras has M261 + M9.

The Disc 2 Episodes menu has another cut of "Somethin' Ain't Quite Right Here".

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_he3Kh ... sp=sharing

The Disc 2 Language menu just has M118.

And finally, the good part! The Disc 2 Extras menu has "Fortuneteller Baba" + the rest of "Ninja Murasaki"!

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oHhVEY ... sp=sharing

I am pretty sure (without having dwelled on it too much) that between the previous cut of it and this one, it's the full track, totally clean. For your convenience and mine I put everything I've already uploaded in a folder:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

I am about to do the documentation (ty and kenisu for making this so much easier) for M2 so it will probably be a while before I get to the rest. If you acquire them or if someone else wants to do it, please let me know. Otherwise I will stay chronological for my sanity.

M2 question for Zestanor: did you decide that the track that kenisu calls "Lucifer's End" is in fact M441-1? I just gave it a quick 2-bar-at-a-time comparison and I'm not seeing any daylight, so I might be inclined to agree with that, but surely kenisu had a reason for calling it M441-2...? (I will probably scrutinize it more later but I wanted to get your thoughts.)

PS: I guess the fact that the first 2 bars are cut is daylight but that kind of cut is not all that unusual, even in this particular movie.
