My order for Part 6 from RightStuf has just been shipped out! I'm quite excited for this one.

I am looking forward to seeing/hearing what this "Special Opening" is that was mentioned before Part 5 was released.

My guess is that it will be a voice actor, just one that's outside FUNimation's normal talent pool.

...In fact...I'm going to go ahead and guess (read: actively hope) that it's simply "Dragon Soul," but sung by Johnny Yong Bosch. He lives in California, so he doesn't do a ton of work for FUNimation, but he has done a few roles. And, most recently, he went down to FUNimation to reprise his role as Vash for the dub of the new Trigun movie. My theory is that while he was down there, they simply grabbed him and asked if he we would sing "Dragon Soul" as well. This would be special in the sense that...

1) As I said before, he's outside of FUNimation's usual talent pool by virtue of the fact that he doesn't live in the Dallas area.
2) Johnny is the lead singer of a band called Eyeshine which, in my opinion, is actually really good. They must be doing something right if they're on iTunes. In any event, he is an actual, professional singer, unlike some of FUNimation's other voice actors who just sing for a hobby.
3) He was the second black power ranger. My inner dork would explode with happiness at the sheer awesomeness.

Of course, I could be completely wrong. This is purely based on a feeling, an intuition, that has little to no basis in actual evidence. Still, it would be pretty cool!

Yeah, I read that and just thought "Funimation sure is getting lazier with Kai and is making my interest in Kai dwindle past 0 to -1."

It seems like beginning with the Trunks Saga they have just stopped caring. Consistency be damned.

And, as for the singer being a female, to me that is not very special. I was expecting maybe a duet or something to happen. I guess I had my hopes up to high.

Meh. Not really bothered by it. Sure, I'd prefer "Taiyoken" over "Solar Flare," but it's not like they changed it to "Ice Cream Moon Beam Extravaganza Time" or something completely dumb and unrelated.

I think it's because of them doing uncut DVD dubs and edited TV dubs. It's easy to mix things up by accident.

But yeah, you could pick a worse name for Taiyoken (Fist of the Sun) than Solar Flare...like the above example.

I wish I had the money for the next parts...I had to import that Mobirates, Gokai-Oh, and assorted keys and weapons...

Oh well, Kai will return to Nicktoons soon enough.

Nope. No "Kikoho". They didn't even show it was a different technique. No "Neo Tri-Beam" either. Just "Tri-Beam" =(

I'm going to post up some stuff later tonight. I was going to Saturday when I first got it, but...Hurricane and all (Another DaizEX New Jersey-ite).
