The Vegetto thing isn't confirmed, but it seems that's the direction they're going for. I guess we'll find out when it airs.

From what I remember, Sean Schemmel said they weren't changing the dialogue for the scene, but when delivering the lines, he intentionally put a bit of a catch in his throat. A lot of people are saying stuff against this, but my view on it is this guy is a professional voice actor who's been playing this character for 17 years. If he thinks a line should be delivered in a particular way, I say let him do it. After all, Sean making a small suggestion during the making of Kai is how we got "I am Son Goku!" in the Freeza arc.
