Aaand... Still no change. It still says NickToons and 4Kids! It hasn't been updated in ages. The episode count only goes up to Season 2 and the DVD/Blu-Ray release up to Part 7!

Oh, man, did I call it or what? Sorry, I know it's rude to gloat, but I'm rather excited to hear this news.

I'm so very relieved to learn that Colleen will be returning as Android 18. I was worried when they announced that McCoy would be returning for Super that she might also be returning for Buu Kai. Knowing now that Colleen will be back makes me feel much better for the sake of consistency, and also because I vastly prefer Colleen over McCoy in that role. This is a good day for me. Eagerly awaiting the blu-rays so I can edit the heck out of them.

Well I'm definitely glad I was wrong. The wait is finally over! Or at least it's finally confirmed to have an ending.

On the subject of 18, I'm glad they stuck with the Kai VA for consistency within Kai but it annoys me that 18 will have an inconsistent voice when going from Kai to Super. I wish they'd have picked just one or the other.

Yeah, it'll definitely be weird. Cast changes happen though. I figured they would keep Doc Morgan for Buu Kai, but I'm really happy they cast him in Super, too.

Finally! Forget Super on Toonami. I'm more excited for this! I can't wait to watch it! I'm so glad this got announced alongside Super.

Why? Boo Kai is the biggest disgrace to the Dragon Ball Franchise in recent history. The (Japanese) actors were far worse, the sound effects were boring, the cuts vary from awkward to non-existent with very little in-between. Need I mention the quality and placement of Sumitomo's score? How it destroyed some of the more iconic and touching moments? What about the shoddy, Funimation-level remastering, with a heavy green tint applied just to render it unforgivably ugly

No English dub could make up for Boo Kai's faults. How anyone could be excited for such a clusterfuck is beyond me.

Because it exists, and it's Dragon Ball, and I'm a masochist, so I'm probably going to watch anyway. Also, I browse the forums when I'm bored. What's it to you? Did I hurt your feelings? Condescending, irrelevant non-comments like yours put me in a bad mood. If you have a legitimate objection to what I said, I'd much prefer that as a response. In fact, I'd be happy to answer you.

While I agree that the remastering and music is bad, it's for the good dub and finally having a complete Kai collection. Also, as evident with the Yamamoto revival project, we can easily replace this music and also color correct the footage ourselves.

I am as well, I can't wait to finally have my entire favorite show redubed and cut down from 291 to 165.

It alongside the reduced episode count more than makes up for what it did wrong.

I don't know if you've watched Boo Kai, but only a negligible amount was cut. Even in the Japanese broadcast, the Saiyaman Arc was cut down to 2 episodes, which made it seem rushed af. The Vegetto fight was shortened, which was good. There are probably 2 or 3 episodes worth more of really annoying filler cut, the rest is minute. With the US release, the Saiyaman Arc will be restored to a state similar to DBZ, that makes the cut very minute. Unless you just don't care about the ugly picture, or Sumitomo's score butchering moments like the one where Goten first meets Goku, unless you just don't care, or unless the dub literally makes or breaks the show for you, there's no way you can justify that statement.

To be clear, I don't mind that you're excited, Boo Kai is just so awful, I haven't heard one good reason to watch other than the dub, which, in my opinion, has a shit-ton of negatives outweighing it.

Both Kais have image issues, the original with the redrawn scenes and some light in the image and Buu has the green tint.
Both Kais have music issues, the original's was replaced while some of Buu's don't fit their scenes.

Personally I think Buu cut enough out and I don't mind the tint as much as some do so for me the dub and reduced episodes is enough to make me happy but I do think it could've been a lot better.

The Saiyanman episodes were critisized here for being too short and rushed so I don't see why it being longer in the international version is an issue, although 101 is completely filler so you can skip that if you want.

I agree, that's why I don't like the old Kai either. But despite its placement problems, both had solid tracks. Re-dawings aside, the image quality was amazing. It's safe to watch if you're prone to seizures, since the bright flashes are removed, so that's good. If I were in the market for a fillerless DBZ, I'd say Kai almost has it. I'd even say that it's good if you consider the dub, because for all its problems, there was a lot of good as well. That's just not the case here, a dub, at least for me, is not enough to carry a product when I can watch a far superior Z version with subtitles, and I actually get more content, some of which is actually pretty good.

I understand why you don't like it but you should at least try to give it a chance if you're watching Toonami when it's on cause you might change your mind a bit.

As a casual DBZ fan since the old days, personally I could care less what it looks like or how the music was placed. It's Kai and it's going to finish my collection with an accurate dub and with, IMO, 2 fantastic songs Fight it Out and Never Give Up. :) Wish they would just make full versions already

I will watch it at some point. Probably later rather than sooner, since I don't have cable. Unless the dub is so astounding that I literally shit my pants, watching it won't change my mind. There's just too much baggage.

Even considering the faults of Boo arc Kai, which to some extent were shared by the original Kai production, being able to finally dismiss the legacy dub as completely irrelevant is (IMO) a tremendous upside.

Did anyone take that seriously to begin with? Color me surprised, shocked, and befuddled.

Seriously though, a dub just isn't enough for me when I enjoy the original version just fine subbed. But now I'm on repeat.

Yes. We get it. You personally do not care about the more accurate dub, but some of us do.

I'm eager to finally just have the full series collected.
