What processes were used in the Kai Restoration?

Discussion specifically regarding the "refreshed" TV version of DBZ created in Japan for its 20th anniversary, including individual threads for each episode.

So I found a couple parts of Kai going through circulation at the library I work for (one of which had Yammamoto BGM, score) naturally you cannot watch Kai for long without noticing its brand of restoration. I know the Dragon Box masters were the base, some scenes were redrawn/traced, and that there is vectoring of some kind, but I don't have anything in mind beyond that.

They could release the first part of the seriees with Sumitomo score.
