Doubt about sagas/arcs

Post by YonedgeHP » Wed Jul 27, 2016 6:38 pm

I have a minimal doubt. Artificial Human arc and Cell arc are different arcs officially?

In my eyes, the arc begins and ends with the threat of the Artificial Humans. This would include No. 16-20 and Cell. The thread of the story is preventing the future downfall of Dragon World. This is apparent when the one of the protagonists intervenes into the natural story when he doesn't have to and one of the antagonists is secretly scheming from the start. The epilogue somewhat supports this as the alternate future characters both drive events which effect the present and save alternate history from further apocalypse, as per Future Bluma's original goal. Of course, character goals do not always have to be successful, but it works in this example as this was the original catalyst for starting the arc.

This official breakdown from Hujio should also be helpful.

It's all one arc. It begins with Freeza coming to Earth and ends when Cell is killed. It's odd to separate the cyborgs and Cell into separate arcs. An arc has a beginning, middle, and end. What's the end of the cyborg arc?

You've got me there. I can't think of anything other than Cell showing up being the start of the middle and the Cell Games being the start of the end. Even that, I feel, is reaching.

This is how I divide them up based on how far I've gotten in Z:
Saiyan Saga
  • Raditz Arc
    Vegeta Arc
Namek Saga
  • Namek Arc
    Ginyu Force Arc
    Frieza Arc
Androids Saga
  • Garlic Jr. Arc
    Trunks Arc
    Androids Arc
And that's all so far. Don't ask why I divide them up as so. I just do.

I guess the only way I see it is just the 4 sagas of the Saiyans, Freeza, Cell and Buu. I've never really thought to break it down any further.

There are arcs within arcs. The Ginyu Force has a beginning, middle, and end even though it's part of a larger story.
