Not really. Just means the writing for them sucks. Characters are slaves to the writing. If the writer wanted, they could make Chiatzou into a badass fighter.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

You don't seem to get that something needs to happen to make them relevant and Goku dying is one way. What you are saying is that beacuse they are useless now then they should always be useless.

Have to think Goku fighting with Black and Zamasu would have powered him up considerably since the tournament.
Hit was fighting with a handicap during the tournament.
People seem to forget that for some reason.

Hit would annihilate Goku easily.
No, what I am saying that if a main character dying is the only way to make a character useful, then they're not very good characters. Especially since that trope is played out and old as sin.

As for Hit, you are also forgetting that when Goku asked for the death rules to be lifted and Hit specifically asked him if he had a death wish, Goku said that Hit would never touched him again. So you can't say that Hit would have annihilated Goku easily based on an unknown. Especially since we have no idea what Hit not holding back even looks like.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

I mean yeah Hit was holding back but as I said I can't imagine that all this fighting and training didn't improve Goku's fighting abilities either. Goku was the strongest person Hit ever fought and had to use improvement because of it. Now sure Hit can just mask his Ki and kill Goku who has his guard down but if this was a mystery and we didn't know it was going to be Hit killing him then that would be better. Personally a quick match and then Hit showing his true power and killing Goku works better for me. Not that it has to be that way.

The Dragon Balls will have three wishes, so I bet the wishes made next week would be:

Wish #1 - #18 wishes for money
Wish #2 - Roshi wishes for dirty magazines
Wish #3 - Beerus will probably wish for something

If Kaio is wished back to life, I'll be disappointed.

Why? Just like the wish that separated Kibitoshin, whether he's alive or dead, it really changes nothing at all in the grand scheme of things.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

I know, but being dead seems to bother Kaio so badly, I can't help but root against him.

Pan looks sick in the preview, maybe a wish would be to restore her health?

I feel like it would be a waste and a pointless gag for King Kai not to be wish back. They didn't make any real wish on the Dragon Balls, so they didn't reset themselves yet. So I do hope that King Kai will be wish back.

I think that he staying dead would make for a fun punchline to an SoL episode. Pointless? Sure, in the same way that all one-off jokes are pointless in the long-run.

There's no possible way to determine that without Toriyama's original outline available. Please don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Educated guesses can be made, but it's ultimately speculation. I suggest enjoying them if they're well-produced episodes or not. Don't let the idea of "filler" prejudge future episodes you watch.

You cannot consider something filler when there is no source material. They are side stories that are around to give the animation team time to work on other projects, yes. However, by no means the events in these episode are not canonical

The proper term is padding. Which isn't automatically not a bad thing since padding can used flush characters who normally get no or little screen time.

Why the hell when everyone hears filler it somehow translates to their ears as non-canon & bad story?
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
