Conan fights the black organization and all their members have alcoholic beverages for code names. Gin, Vodka, Bourbon etc. more a joke picture really.

They are named after them in the form of puns.

Some are just straight up words that normally wouldn't be used as a names. Gohan, for example, is the Japanese word for cooked rice.

If we take BOG as canon, what the Super manga depicted as Beerus and Whis' conversation about SSG totally contradicts what happened in the movie. Is it that the manga is just a loose adaptation of the series? How was RoF handled in the manga format?

F's manga roughly covered up until shortly after Gokû and Vegeta arrived on Earth and ended there.

Meaning we might just get the start of episodes?

As others have pointed out, what...exactly...is silly about alcohol based name puns in a series where our main protagonist's real name is a pun on carrot, his entire race is a pun on vegetables, and their arch-enemy is a refrigerator? I'm sincerely curious as to why alcohol puns are apparently 'a step too far'.

Considering what he has been doing, the fact that he doesn't seem to do regularly scheduled long-running things, and this being a monthly "manga adaptation" of a weekly series...my guess is that he's only gonna be doing teaser chapters for whichever episode will be airing that week. As in chapter 1 being a teaser for episode 1 and chapter 2 being a teaser for episode 4. (As an example, dunno which episode will air right after the next V-Jump comes out)
