I was waiting for someone to bring that up. Champa and fem!Whis look really badly drawn and Beerus' fighting that weird Shisami look-a-like was awful stuff.

Can't say it dampens my excitement. I'm still buzzing over plot details.

The theory that DBSuper (or at least one part of it) will be a retelling(albeit extra stuff added) of already existing material is getting stronger.

I think this is even more likely to be a BoG re-telling now. Goku says that after Boo, Beerus and Champa show up. Nevermind that Beerus should be sleeping, so he shouldn't have time to meet Champa, Goku didn't mention Freeza either.

That would make...very little sense, given the completely alternate continuity.

Nothing big but Champa's tail is very short compared to Beerus'.

If they're changing 2 movies that just came out then there's no reason to think they won't change a 20 year old,2 chapter epilogue.

In all seriousness though, would that mean we should treat the recent films as a "side story" even though they originally were advertised as not being such?

Super obviously won't have the same animation quality as FnF, but how can you guys tell it's bad from that trailer? All of the scenes went by so quickly that they were practically screen shots. As for them rewriting the movies, I still don't think that's what's happening, I think instead they are telling the same story from a different view, showing scenes that occurred off screen, with a minimal amount of over lapping scenes being reanimated**. As for the new character fighting Beerus, it's a wild guess, but maybe each God of Destruction has a sort of apprentice, with Goku being Beerus', and that new guy being Champa's apprentice, and he has come to show him off to Beerus, thinking he stands a chance against him, which is why Beerus makes that face at Whis, like, "Yeah right, can you believe this guy?"

**I'm hoping the point at which the stories converge is when Goku fights Beerus, and we get a much longer fight spanning multiple episodes, with the Z fighters getting involved like they did in Toriyama's original story.

The scenes of Vegeta training in the Capsule ship, and how eerily close they seem to mirror the Vegeta training scene from Battle of Gods I think is what catches my curiosity the most right now.
