Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Piccolo is the preview. Wonder if he'll have a role this arc?
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Trunks' timeline already have no Dragon Balls unless it is stated otherwise, and in the main timeline destroying the Earth Dragon Ball's are not a big deal since there is still Namek where Goku can teleport to. And honestly, death really doesn't mean anything even if the Dragon Balls were taking out since this arc takes place between the end of the Buu Saga and the last chapter of the manga. So we know the entire will live, with only Future Trunks, Future Bulma and maybe Mai in danger of perma deaths.Xeztin wrote:I hope Black destroy's Earth's Dragon Ball's early in the arc to make death mean something again, and to make it a certain possibility. We don't know where the Namekian's are exactly and Super Shenron could be a challenge to find again. It'd definitely make it darker, the Earth's Dragon Ball's will ruin the mood of the arc if not.
Super only had one reunion which is base on the movie. The only other parities is the one at the end of the Resurrection 'F' arc and the victory party over U6. And I have already mentioned the darker tone Super took with the movies so it is odd that you still say the show is too light-hearted. And most the cast have been comic relief since the Android Saga. I actually I take that back, some have literally done nothing since the Android Saga. At least given them comic relief duty allow them to do something.Basaku wrote: In some sagas better than others. I wouldn't call first 47 Super episodes one of the better examples in the show's history. Obviously humor and calm episodes are very much needed and essential to get the story right, properly paced and balanced, but Super skewed it too much into Reunion Special territory with little drama, tension or stakes, relegating multiple characters to nothing but comedic relief etc.

Because we've had enough "fun" arcs to last us the rest of our lives.HeroR wrote:What is up everyone's obsession with a dark arc ?
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I'm open to the possibility that the end will or could be rewritten, but I know no one will perma die, but it adds to the suspense knowing someone just can't run about 3 miles away during a battle and re wish Goku or whoever back to life. It feels like the character's don't even care if they die because they know someone of the cast will wish them back. If Earth's DB's are gone, and Goku is being took over by black, who's going to teleport to Namek? and No one can get the Super Dragon Balls in time without Whis. They'd have to defeat Black and rewish everything back to normal afterwards. Look at Piccolo's death in ROF, pretty much never happened. I don't want that for a arc this dark/caliber otherwise what's the point?HeroR wrote:Trunks' timeline already have no Dragon Balls unless it is stated otherwise, and in the main timeline destroying the Earth Dragon Ball's are not a big deal since there is still Namek where Goku can teleport to. Honestly, it doesn't for me.Xeztin wrote:I'm open to the possibility that the end will or could be rewritten, but I know no one will perma die, but it adds to the suspense knowing someone just can't run about 3 miles away during a battle and re wish Goku or whoever back to life. Unless you write out the Dragon Balls permanently like what happened in Trunks' time, death will never be taking seriously and the fact that this takes place between the end of the manga where everyone lives makes it less so, so the whole 'OMG, we got a dark arc', falls flat to me. At worse, you get something like Namek/Frieza Saga where the heroes have to go through a lot of steps to revive everyone.
I also disagree with the cast not taking death seriously. If they truly saw death as no big deal as some seems to think, why would Piccolo bother to sacrifice himself for Gohan, knowing he can just be wish back or why was everyone sad about the Earth being destroyed by Freeza. The cast don't take death completely seriously, but they don't just blow off death either since they go out of their way to make sure they and their love ones don't die.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
The main Goku just getting possessed would be the lamest outcome for what Black Goku actually is.

Kid Trunks will have blue hair when he's in his 30's as well. This confirms it.fexus wrote:It's still blue hair. What happened?
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
This shot makes Black look rather robotic. A large hand coming from some cable-like structure.

The thin arm/cable connected to a larger hand can also be seen here.

So, it really seems to be Black's true form rather than some placeholder shadow.

"Future Trunks' World died to save the show. Praise!"
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super
