Well at first I thought there was no way 17 could still be out there but I’ll admit now I’m not so sure.
But if he is still out there that’s a pretty dumb way to spoil it.

I agree, this isn't a good sign for those of us wanting Super to return.Chuquita wrote:Unless 131's episode title is meant to be a meta nod to the viewers as a "Super's going on hiatus, guys." thing or a "Hey let's use the same end title as we did with GT", but instead something related to the plot like the rest of the episode titles for Super are then that's a very omnious-sounding title.
Am still surprised they're finishing it, and it isn't a hiatus.
If this is the case, then Chioka and Sakurada were deceiving us in November.
I can appreciate them being told they can't reveal it is ending - but they could have handled it better.
They chose to state Toriyama didn't know how and when it was ending, which at the moment (unless Toei/Shueisha give information to the contrary) is false.
They led us to believe it was continuing, and that disappoints me, because it isn't, which baffles me.

Based on the title, seems like it's gonna be a wrap for the 10-year gap story one way or another (even if rushed) so yeah, I dont expect them to return to this era again even if another DB series is already in pre-production. Guessing game what the next series will be

Episode 131 is about EoZ, no doubt about this.

Of course.. Just saying I think it'd be better if that were the case though.shadowmaria wrote:lolwutgoku the krump dancer wrote:This feels so abrupt lol.. The last episode should at least be 45 minutes long. Goku and Jiren's battle will have to over in ep.130 if Toei is hoping to have at least a half decent ending for Super.
Please tell me you know that that was never going to happen.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

Considering how much Toriyama loves gags, I could see the ToP ending with Freeza somehow getting MvP until 17 steps in and claims the wish for himself, ending the arc with 17 on his boat trip with his family and Freeza cursing in hell.

Super being over doesn't mean Toriyama is done as we are seeing with the new movie. Super reaching EOZ doesn't mean it or another show can't continue after it.DBZ_Lee wrote:I agree, this isn't a good sign for those of us wanting Super to return.Chuquita wrote:Unless 131's episode title is meant to be a meta nod to the viewers as a "Super's going on hiatus, guys." thing or a "Hey let's use the same end title as we did with GT", but instead something related to the plot like the rest of the episode titles for Super are then that's a very omnious-sounding title.

Which is quite weird, we know that Goku won't die or leave forever like he did in GT. Strange choice.HeroR wrote:Yes, it's just about the same as the Japanese title for the last episode of GT, according to Herms.

There isn't a "Goodbye" in the DBS provisional title that is the difference and important one I think.jeffbr92 wrote:Which is quite weird, we know that Goku won't die or leave forever like he did in GT. Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Are people seriously worried that this is the end of weekly Dragon Ball because of the final episode title is pretty much the same as GT?
Guys, Super being on air caused the money made on Dragon Ball to skyrocket and it's STILL going up.
We don't have the Q3 FY2018 results from Toei yet (Fiscal Year 2018 is April 2017-March 2018), but as of Q3 Bandai's results for the Dragon Ball IP are 65.4 billion yen, that's higher than their full year results for FY2017, and their forcast for full year is 96 billion. For Toei's Q2 (so half year) they were at 7,856 million, not far behind their full year results for FY2017, so they will likely end the fiscal year well above the last as well.
This is a business, the parties involved are making a lot of money and they don't hate money. Dragon Ball will be back on TV, likely not long after the new movie, only this time it will probably have a good production, meaning less money will have to be spent per episode (meaning better profits), but with better visual results and they will be able to more properly utilize the IP with movies and TV specials.
The money made during the "Movie only" part of the franchise's life doesn't even come close to comparing to what having a show on air did for the series.
If they are trying to send some hidden message with that final episode title, it's probably more a nod to the fact that we WILL see Goku again.

Its fucking ridiculous how rushed this feels. As much as I despise Super, it's still Dragonball and it deserves a proper send of. Having the climactic battle be one episode and then followed by the ending is purely moronic. And also
if MUI allows goku to be in a realm that not even GoDs can easily obtain (yet he MASTERED it) then that is some straight up empty headed writing. Goku never gets his rematch with beerus and now when he does he's gonna whoop his ass because he masters UI and beerus has nothing thats a threat to goku. They treated the GoDs like the kais. All titles, no substance.
The final battle is 2 episodes, which is the same as the last arc. Actually, it's more like 2 and a half since Goku vs Jiren started last week.SirTorra wrote:Its fucking ridiculous how rushed this feels. This isn't based on a manga, they don't need to drag the big battles out across multiple months like Z did. Having one episode to close things out after the climax is the norm for seasonal anime as well.
Goku is and always has been a prodigy, we also don't know if he will even be able to access UI on his own after this fight and we still don't now how he compares to Beerus, regardless of the fact that Beerus hasn't mastered UI AND on top of all of this this isn't the end of Dragon Ball, just Super.

And its almost a given episode 131 will be Super reaching EoZ, they are already teasing a EoZ Goku figure(check the merchandise thread).

He mastered the form. Unless it's a form you can only use once, goku is going to use it again down the line in future projects.ArchedThunder wrote:The final battle is 2 episodes, which is the same as the last arc. It's "mastered" in the sense that he's using the full thing, not the half version that is Omen. Goku has been unable to achieve Omen on his own, and it's very possible he won't be able to use the full version of UI on his own for awhile as well.SirTorra wrote:He mastered the form. Of course he'll use it again in the future, but nothing says that when the next series starts he'll be able to use the form right off the bat. There is also the issue of how draining the form is on top of all of that.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Lets not kid ourselves here. Once goku obtains a new form he can use it practically at will. Hes a prodigy after all. You're right that he hasn't truly mastered UI in the same sense that he mastered SS1. But this isnt a form, its a technique so we can't really say its at its full potential. Also if you read the the translations it states "son goku masters his instinct" and "that is a power that surpasses even a GoD". So unless they are straight up lying, goku is going to be stronger than beerus. And thats a shame.ArchedThunder wrote:It's "mastered" in the sense that he's using the full thing, not the half version that is Omen. Why are people complaining that Goku finally Surpassed Beerus - a God of Destruction after 5 damn arcs!?
It NEVER EVER took so long for Goku to surpass someone in DB and Z.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
It's being treated as a form, a form that his body activates on its own. Goku learning to use UI on his own is not something you can just assume will happen right away, he wasn't able to turn into Omen on his own even after he transformed twice.SirTorra wrote:Lets not kid ourselves here. You're also reading way too much into hype text. Vegeta "surpassed a God of Destruction" back in episode 126, doesn't mean he's can beat Beerus. And even if Goku has surpassed Beerus, so what? Beerus can take training more seriously to make sure he doesn't get left in the dust and we can finally see him fight more. On top of that there are still many currently introduced characters still much stronger than that, not to mention they can keep introducing stronger characters.
