The Japanese language only has 5 main sounds, so it would be Mo-na-ka

I think he means compared to the characters who appear in the manga cause they're all Toriyama's designs so it's a fair comparison.

How is it not lazy ? It's a very plain generic design.

I like his simple design, but it could have been better, like the red alien of episode 2.

As awkward a design it is with those nipples, it could be weirder. Toriyama could've made it the character's package instead and named him something having to do with balls.

Then Funi'd really be in a bind.

Yeah there's not a lot of characters that look like him in the manga except his suit that looks like chilled from episode of Bardock.

I'd be fine with just learning if she's a female character so this tournament isn't all guys.

just like any other toriyama character, after you see them in action and more often you begin to like them more and more.
monaca's designe is pretty sure on purpose simple.
If toriyama thought he should look strong than he would have made him strong looking.
its not like he cant.
