Went up a small bit from last week weeks rating. I'm telling ya, the Trunk X Mai shipping is bringing in the viewers. :)

Good to see higher numbers! Next week with Goku vs. Black and some quality animation, let's hope Super can at least beat Doraemon.

It keeps beating Conan and tying with Maruko is impressive, so that's good enough.

Funny how One Piece gets its best ratings in a while with the start of an unimpressive filler arc that was barely advertised. That's why i say it's often a mistake to think ratings reflect the episode content and/or quality.

Film Gold hype (it's being billed as a tie-in, however irrelevant it might turn out to be to the actual film) + interest in seeing the new opening probably contributed to the bump, I would guess.

One Piece is like a religion in Japan amongst the otaku, they gobble up everything thrown at them.
Toyotarō: … I get the feeling I’ve just heard something amazing (laughs). Lord Beerus and Whis turn up in Dragon Ball Super, and have become an unsurpassable wall for Goku and the gang. What do the two of them mean to you?

Toriyama: Well… First off, right now I don’t have any plans for Goku and Vegeta to surpass Beerus and Whis.

Top 10 ratings, June 27 - July 3 (episode 50):

Sazae 9.9
One Piece 7.5
Dragon Ball Super 7.0
Chibi Maruko-chan 6.3
Maho Pretty Cure! 4.2
Yokai Watch 3.0
Disney's Sofia the First 2.7
Folktales from Japan 2.4
Arslan Senki 2.4
Curious George 2.3
Shaun the Sheep 2.3

A strange week where Sazae was lower than usual, Shin-chan and Doraemon took a break (and also Ace Attorney and Conan, but those two wouldn't beat DBS), but it didn't stop Super from having a great week, and actually beating Maruko this time. Japan is really digging the arc.

It's worth mentioning that, even though due to those breaks the 10th place had only a 2.3, popular anime series like Naruto Shippuuden can't make the list. It helps to put in perspective how well the top shows do compared to the rest.

Wow, this arc has been on fire. Constant 6.1 or above so far.

I don't even understand why Naruto is still on the air. The manga ended over a year ago and instead of wrapping up the anime they're still making filler...and the show is getting terrible ratings. Like...what's the point? Why don't they end the anime and cover the end of the manga already?

Merchandise? Dunno.

Anyway, good job Super!
I could have gotten into anything...and yet I chose the story aimed at young Japanese boys about martial arts, and later about super-powerful aliens punching each other really hard.

Second week in a row that the ratings have gone up. It definitely seems to be getting stronger ratings than the previous arcs.

Super is seriously on One Piece's ass!!

The fact that super got a 7.0 rating this week is really impressive!!

Number 3!! That's impressive and even more because it was on a week where most of the top 10 went down.

This is the first time i've seen 2.4 and 2.3 on the top 10. That says a lot!!!

Holy shit, what a great rating. And quite a big improvement from last week, too.

They're probably dragging things out with filler until there's enough material for them to make a smooth transition into a Boruto anime...although that'll take quite some time considering the manga is monthly and they decided to start it off by doing a manga adaptation of the movie.

Sazae lately has been getting lower ratings compared to what used to do.
One Piece almost got raped by its lead-in again, and has been airing non-stop since 1999.

It would be cool, if for just once, Super ranked 1st.

Super has been on fire with this arc. I hope Toriyama/Toei realize that most fans prefer a more serious tone and give us more stuff like this.
It's what made Dragon Ball popular after all.
A world without Dragon Ball is just meh.

One Piece wasn't nearly raped by Super, there is a .5 different and last week One Piece's rating were much higher than Super. Also, per ratings, Future Trunks is only a little higher than the Champa Saga so far. And Toriyama already knows fans like serious stuff, which was why Resurrection 'F' had a darker tone than Battle of Gods. Toriyama even said that the Champa Saga was made light on purpose to get a break from the dark stuff. So Toriyama knows that fans like serious, but he decides the tone of the series based on what he likes.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

Better a combination of both comedy & seriousness
