Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
All the shows were down this week, it has nothing to do with the content of the episode.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Doraemon and Maruko-chan went up, while Sun & Moon stayed the same usual, so not everyone went down. But yeah, the content of the episode - or rather, Piccolo being stronger is completely irrelevant with the decrease.precita wrote:All the shows were down this week, it has nothing to do with the content of the episode.

Or they don't like Gohan.perucho1990 wrote:Either the japanese fans are already starting to get tired of the recruitment episodes or they didnt like that Piccolo got that strong after being showcased as a joke before episode 88?, I dont think it was because of the lack of Goku
This rating is what Episode 89 deserves it, not episode 88.
And another week without BNHA in the top 10..

I wish they'd do a character poll in Jump so we'd have a better idea of how character centered episodes impact ratings and plot.

People are probably tired of the bad writing.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
I just noticed the pattern that they dont like when Gohan looks like a wimp/nerd(See his performance in FnF, the episode with Trunks that also drew a bad rating), they like when Gohan looks like a complete badass/madman like the fight vs Lavenda, which drew the highest rating in this arc, and there is also the first episode of the Krillin mini arc that had the Goku vs Gohan sparring match which had iirc the highest rating in DBS(though it was most likely due to the ToP preview)..Doctor. wrote: Or they don't like Gohan.

There was no bad writing in that Gohan/Piccolo episode.SaiyanGod117 wrote:People are probably tired of the bad writing.

I'm talking about the bad writing the show has in-general.precita wrote:There was no bad writing in that Gohan/Piccolo episode.SaiyanGod117 wrote:People are probably tired of the bad writing.

No because then One Piece wouldn't have dropped along with it.SaiyanGod117 wrote:I'm talking about the bad writing the show has in-general.precita wrote:There was no bad writing in that Gohan/Piccolo episode.SaiyanGod117 wrote:People are probably tired of the bad writing.
The shows go up and down. Its still 7th. I have no idea why there's anything to even discuss anymore. Almost all of the ratings fall within the same exact range.

For some reasons fans forget that these shows are watch by real life people with their real life bussiness and other important matters. How hard is to get that some people did not watch the lastest maybe because they had something more important in real life to do than watch a Sunday morning cartoon?
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

One Piece ratings look normal to me.Bullza wrote:No because then One Piece wouldn't have dropped along with it.SaiyanGod117 wrote:I'm talking about the bad writing the show has in-general.precita wrote:

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
The episode with the highest rating in Super is episode 47; episode 75 is just the third. I don’t know if you are aware of this, but you can see the ratings for all episodes in the first page of the thread.perucho1990 wrote:... and there is also the first episode of the Krillin mini arc that had the Goku vs Gohan sparring match which had iirc the highest rating in DBS(though it was most likely due to the ToP preview)..
Also, since it was unannounced, the audience would have no way of knowing that there would be a preview of the new arc at the end of the broadcast. Therefore, it has no effect on the rating of the episode.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Oh right, 75 was the 3rd highest episode in DBS.
Now what I was going to say is that the Yamcha scene toward the end of episode 88 mightve been the reason of the low rating, the japanese fans might not have found the scene funny because Yamcha deserves to be treated better.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
That's not how the ratings work. People don't know the content of the episode before they tune in, so how does Yamcha being in the last 10 sec of the episode bring the rating down?

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
why do people still do this thing with the ratings after two years?
Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
So they waited almost 90 episodes and five story arcs to drop it, make perfect sense.SaiyanGod117 wrote: I'm talking about the bad writing the show has in-general.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
I got to somewhere around One Piece episode #111 or something before dropping. After interrupting Luffy vs. that lightning God dude's fight by putting a big gold ball on Luffy's hand, they then started showing some horrible flashback episode about some random dude. I was done. Never went back.HeroR wrote:So they waited almost 90 episodes and five story arcs to drop it, make perfect sense.SaiyanGod117 wrote: I'm talking about the bad writing the show has in-general.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
I really don't know, every week it's the exact same conversation over and over again. Content of the episodes doesn't have much to do with ratings and whether the ratings go up and down DBS is always moves between 6th and 7th and is always just below One Piece, which is an an extremely good rating. It's TV ratings(which are extremely good) do not affect whether or not it stays on air, the primary reason it is on air is to sell merchandise and it is an extremely profitable franchise and so long as it makes money there is no reason to cancel the anime.ChaosLordBrandon wrote:why do people still do this thing with the ratings after two years?
But there's no point giving these explanations, the idiots will continue to make the same stupid comments every single week.
