Do you think Super's opening theme fits ...
or would you rather prefer something like Hero from Battle of Gods? I am listening to it now and i think it would have been a great opening song,

I don't speak Japanese so I don't know the lyrics, but the song is pretty great as a melody. The singer kinda ruins it, though. But I agree Hero is a cool song which would fit if they chose to go that way.

I personally think it doesn't. It's not a bad song, but it feels generic when applied to Dragon Ball.

I like the song, the lyrics seem to fit...but the energy that it's performed with just doesn't really feel like it fits with the other OPs. I do think a different artist could accomplish that though, so I'm kind of waiting to see if the song ever gets an official cover.

I didnt like Hero while I like the Super intro so I have to disagree.

It suddenly cuts of at the end but it defently fits Super.

I want Hironobu Kageyama back...
But yeah, it fits even though the singer is a little monotone.

The singer doesn't have enough power in his voice. As an instrumental the song sounds great though. Someone did a wonderful piano instrumental cover of it a month or so ago.

The more I watch the opening, the more I love it.

I really like this cover; it's something I could hear playing over a big plot moment.Draconic wrote:Could you find it please?Chuquita wrote:The singer doesn't have enough power in his voice. Like Chuquita said, Kazuya Yoshi lacks power, or I would say feeling in his voice. Instead of getting me pumped for the show, I feel like Kazuya is singing me a lullaby. Both Kai's OPs had way more energy and gave off an aura of "new generation of Dragon Ball".

Nop, the song sucks.
Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Kai and Dragon Ball Heroes openings obliterate it. It should even be considered bullying, comparing any of these with Super opening.
The song is not catchy. Lacks energy, a lot of it. You can't make a Dragon Ball Opening without that.
And the ending cut is bad. Feels like it should be there one more line,

A world without Dragon Ball is just meh.

I like the theme a hell of a lot better than any of Kai's songs. It works.
Sounds like people aren't digging some of the flatter or even atonal qualities. I like all of that. It's distinct and energetic without being over-the-top. Catchy too.

Although I did like the Kai songs, I, too, like this song a lot better. I think is is super catchy and gets me in a DB mood. I play it before watching episodes even if the stream I'm watching lacks the intro.

I loved the OP the first time I heard it. And although it doesn't have the profound vocal power that previous OP's for Dragon Ball animes have had, it's insanely catchy and certainly sounds like a real Dragon Ball tune.

I think it's great. A lot better than the ending theme for sure.
Cool stuff that I upload here because Youtube will copyright claim it: https://vimeo.com/user60967147
Re: Do you think Super's opening theme fits ...
Yeah, it's much better than the Kai openings, that while more enthusiastic, tried way too hard to mimic the classic ones, but ended up sounding just childish instead. Dragon Soul is still fine, but i can't even remember the name or how the second one sounded, really.Cipher wrote:I like the theme a hell of a lot better than any of Kai's songs. It works.

With Chozetsu Dynamic, on the other hand, they didn't seem worried about trying to be anything. It's kind of unique for the franchise, but fitting, managing to be catchy and especially modern. It's a song i see myself randomly listening to in the future, like i still do with Dan Dan Kokoro, for instance.

I love Chozetsu Dynamic, it's a song I genuinely enjoy a lot... I like Hero a lot more, it's my exercise/motivation song, infact I only just finished listening to it. As for Hero being the opening, I'm not sure, I love it but it seems too energetic for my taste. It makes me sad to think it most probably won't be in Super at all, as it is the perfect battle song IMO.
Re: Do you think Super's opening theme fits ...
It's perfect. When I started the very first episode I immediately started grinning ear to ear because of it... As other said, it feels really "Dragonball-like"
