The few people who watched this week's English dub episode, how was it?
Caulifla best girl!
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" FUNimation Dub Official Discussion Thread
the voice of Beerus, goku and Vegeta was great in that episode, and This was the best episode in the bog arc, but that doesn't excuse my complains about this saga

Good for what it was. The movie was better than the arc as a whole though. The arc really should've been closer to 10 episodes in total. 14 was WAY too many for a story that was really only meant for a theatrical film that was almost an hour & a half. I'll have a review with my full thoughts on YouTube in a few hours if anyone's curious.Dragon Ball Gus wrote:The few people who watched this week's English dub episode, how was it?

I think the episode count would be about right if they'd bothered to add anything relevant that wasn't in the Extended Cut. Instead, they included things like a 10 minute Rock-Paper-Scissors game. There's also Episode 12 (That's the one with the Dragons, right?), which totally killed any momentum that the battle had gained from Tate's Episode 11, which was actually quite a lot.Scsigs wrote:Good for what it was. Oh God the Freeza arc begins now! Well the first couple bridging eps are good but once the meat of the ep begins.... Oh god getting ptsd-like flashbacks to watching that shite live...

You can do it! We are halfway to getting to the Champa Arc. Hopefully this arc flies by so we can get to the actual new content.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Oh God the Freeza arc begins now! I agree, but I think Chris Ayres will make the drag worth it.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Oh God the Freeza arc begins now! Well the first couple bridging eps are good but once the meat of the ep begins.... Oh god getting ptsd-like flashbacks to watching that shite live...
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula

I don't even think his masterful performance can save that arc.Dragon Ball Ireland wrote:I agree, but I think Chris Ayres will make the drag worth it.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Oh God the Freeza arc begins now! Well atleast the episodes before the actual battle began were decent. But yeah it will be a rough to watch once Freeza gets to earth (I'm looking at you episode 24).Lord Beerus wrote:I don't even think his masterful performance can save that arc.Dragon Ball Ireland wrote:I agree, but I think Chris Ayres will make the drag worth it.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Oh God the Freeza arc begins now! You are right staying positive that is something to at least look forward too, really hope the script spruces things up again in places like the BoG retelling did. Overall my impression on the BoG retelling went up a bit with this dub maybe a low 6 to a high 6 so they can't make the Freeza arc any more worse.

Kind of figured that set 1 would end with episode 13. Still kind of a bummer episode 14 was left out of part 1 since that would have put the whole BOG arc on 1 set.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" FUNimation Dub Official Discussion Thread
Toei already broke Season 1 as 26 episodes so splitting as 13 eps makes sense as annoying as it is, I will probably wait until FUNi collect the 26 eps in a Season Set in a year and half after Part One drops, though $33 is not a bad price for these parts so may buy the retelling in parts, we'll see.TRIZACK wrote:Kind of figured that set 1 would end with episode 13. No combo pack, huh? Even now, Dragon Ball releases get the short end of the stick.

Should I preorder the set, or wait to see if they'll do Season sets in 6-12 months like Kai?

Season Sets will probably be released about 15months after Part One.Scsigs wrote:Should I preorder the set, or wait to see if they'll do Season sets in 6-12 months like Kai?
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" FUNimation Dub Official Discussion Thread
It depends on how much you want it. If you can wait then I'd go for the season sets but if you want them right away and can afford them then get the parts.Scsigs wrote:Should I preorder the set, or wait to see if they'll do Season sets in 6-12 months like Kai?
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Actually a little surprised that they aren't going 1:1 with the Japanese releases in terms of episode count. Not a bad thing to have slightly more, of course.
99% chance it's a bizarre stipulation of whatever licensing agreement they have for the franchise. Much like how they still aren't allowed to release One Piece episodes on Blu-ray despite the series going HD ages ago.Footlong Shoe wrote:No combo pack, huh? Re: "Dragon Ball Super" FUNimation Dub Official Discussion Thread
That irks me. It's one episode short of the end of the arc, how much would it really drive the price of the sets up for them to make it 14 instead of 13? Probably not much, seeing as how 12 episode sets are often the exact same price as 13 episode sets.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Super Part one BD July 25th eps 1-13.
