My question is - are they gonna go with Top (like they did with Hit) or Toppo? Personally I'd like them to not change the character's name as they've already done so with Hit and besides Toppo sounds better, no?

Hitto is just the japanese pronunciation of Hit while Toppo is the actual name of the character so changing it to Top would make no sense.

Not quite. Toppo's name is a rearrangement of the word 'pot', which is 'potto' in Japanese syllabary. The extra O at the end, just like Hitto vs Hit, is entirely a consequence of the Japanese language, and therefore shouldn't be retained in English. These are English words, after all.

Honestly, it should have never been 'Toppo' in the first place, and I will eat my shoes if they don't go with Top considering how well they've treated names so far.

I Agree and I am hoping that his is just a Nickname for him and not the offical all the time. The Full saying of Toppo is just much more Grand and Respectful, Top is not the Best for him, that is the Name of a 2nd or 3rd tier Flash Rogue's Villain.

Honestly THAT was the Best Surprise of the Episode, Hearing GoD of Universe 2 Hellas Voice and Honestly with what I heard so far I was Greatly Impressed!

The actor Maryam Baig gave her a polish of Grandness and Maturity that I expect from My Lady Hellas.

Honestly if this is the 1st taste of the Voices of Universe 2, Funmations is on the Right Paths.

I agree, not as questionable as Top, but still suprised they change the name so much, Hellas is a uniquely simple name, not sure why so many name changes all the sudden.

But Still it is made easier by just how Good Maryam Baig sounds so far!

I have to say, I’m a little dissapointed that Chris Sabat isn’t voicing Toppo. That seemed like such a perfect choice for him, but I guess that when you’re already voicing plenty of other characters in one show, it was to be expected.

Good voice, but calling him 'Top' will take some getting used to. Theoretically it's the same principle as using 'Hit' over 'Hitto', but 'Toppo' stuck, whereas most people accepted Hit right away.

I'm actually more annoyed about the change from Helles to Jerez. 'Helles' rolls off the tonuge better, 'Jerez' sounds off. This is something we'll have to expect going forward, there are a lot of weird names to work out. I feel like people still haven't fully settled on what to call the clown GoD. Is it Vermouth? Vermoud? Belmod? The latter seems to be the one that stuck even though it makes the least amount of sense.

I was using it as an example since it's consistent across all four. Don't be that guy. King Kai Fist stands out precisely because it is not consistent with how the name has been localized elsewhere. I don't care if he's called Top or Toppo, I want them to pick one and stay consistent with it so we don't end up with shit like Cooler's underling Salza/Sauzer/Thouser whose name seems to change every time he appears. Even Cooler is sometimes being called Cooler and others Coora now.

In the Army, you have someone who is essentially the head of the enlisted soldiers who is the rank of First Sergeant. Another name they call their 1SG is Top.

So the fact that Toppo is really called “Top” I believe is perfect since it really reflects that hes the leader of the Force.
