I would prefer these leaks not be true, but Furuya recently tweeted about doing a lot of Yamcha voice work and not being able to go into more details, so ... ????

We do know shit is going to happen on earth while the ToP is going on. Who's to say Yamcha won't have anything to do with issues on earth. This tweet from the VA don't mean he'll be on the team.

You seem to have a lot of hatred for something you haven't seen play out yet.

I just think its absolutely ridiculous and stupid. I'm not as angry about it as I was during that post but I just strongly dislike the idea. Literally the only two things I was looking forward to during this arc were:

1) How creatively they could use Buu without making him overpowered. Which was taken away.

2) Once #1 was gone it was fine...at least I got to see something equally interesting with Frieza being forced to work with the people he hates. It wouldn't make him a "good" character or redeem him any as some think. It would be just him trying to live another day to eliminate Goku and Vegeta in the future while the fan base gets a few kicks out of it.

Now we know there are no stakes to the tournament. They will not permanently kill off Frieza...that would be even worse.

The way his VA said that is he said he "tired himself out with a lot of lines."

Why would Yamcha have so many lines in an episode? Even in the eps he appeared in so far he only appears for a few small scenes and has a small amount of dialogue. This sounds like a whole episode thing.

If you think the rest of this arc is going to be solely in the world of the void, then you've not watched DBZ or DB before. That's how they always do it. They cut away from the action to pad out the arc. It's the standard. So, logic dictates they will have stories involving the other characters on earth.

I can see them giving a filler to Trunks/Goten on the animal island, that's about it. We're not going to see Bulma and the others.

Replacing Buu and Frieza with Yamcha would just hurt my soul

I'd rather it be a made up character no-one has ever heard of. I'd rather it be Mr. Satan. I'd rather Mr. Satan win the tournament by holding onto the ledge for 48 minutes.

FWIW I don't dislike Yamacha...he's just too serious to be a gag fighter in this tournament and too gag-ish to be taken seriously. I have a hard time feeling he belongs. At least with Satan you know its 100% gag.
