Favourite moments in the Tournament of Power.
I like episode 112 when Toppo destroys Vegeta with his words.
I also like how in episode 118 Saonel somehow managed to get out of the beam struggle between Gohan and Pirina.

Re: Favourite moments in the Tournament of Power.
This is an overlooked moment, but i particularily liked when the various Gods reacted to Ultra Instinct (Episode 110). I was amused by their expressions of fear, concern, astonishment, surprise. What caught my interest is that they were using a remix of Zamasu's theme in the background. Was it just a coincidence, or perhaps an intentional reference? Ultra Instinct, the technique that even the divine Gods struggle to achieve, was reached by a lowly and mere mortal. Oh, i would love if that had been an intentional tribute to Zamasu from Toei!

1) That bat dude running away from Freeza
2) Roshi's epic Kamehameha after his speech.
3) Gohan and Goku's simultaneous father-son Kamehameha Wave in opposite directions and different opponents.
4) Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon and Nail & Kami's brief cameo
5) Hit and Jiren's fight.
6) Gohan staring at that family portrait after Universe 10 got wiped out.
7) When Universe 9 was erased and the angel of that universe smirked. It was a great memorable scene due to the music.
Toppo's response to Vegeta after Vegeta told him he doesn't settle for second place. "Aren't you second place too"?
9) Roshi saving Vegeta after Vegeta got trapped in a Mafuba seal by Frost.
10) Beerus and Champa's interaction just before Universe 6 was erased.

Re: Favourite moments in the Tournament of Power.
Outside of all the "big moments" (Goku v Jiren, the Kamehameha on Kefla, etc), my favourite might be when Frost catches Vegeta in the Mafuba. Such a wonderful tense moment, especially with the music. Great payoff, too.

I deliberately left the Special Beam Cannon out on purpose as it definitely my number 1.omaro34 wrote:1) That bat dude running away from Freeza

I like that Champa went out acting exactly how he always did towards Beerus.

Re: Favourite moments in the Tournament of Power.
Gokū's finishing Kamehameha to Kafla is definitely #1. It's just so awesome.
Aside from that, I really enjoy anything with Jiren, especially his fight with pre-UI Gokū and with Hit. The erasure of Universe 2 was bittersweet for me, and the U6 one got me right in the feels, so those are up there as well. There are probably others that I'm forgetting, but nothing's really disappointed me so far, so I'm not downplaying everything else by any means.

Re: Favourite moments in the Tournament of Power.
"Get lost." Jiren evading the god ki blocks.
Hit flicking Narirama off of the stage.
The orange U2 dude running away from Jiren.
Base Cabba bodying Nigrisshi.
Goku getting revenge on a stronger Kale in a tired SSG form after she supposedly was SSB level earlier in the tournament.
SSG Goku shooting ki blasts out of his hand fashioned to be a gun.
SSG Goku shooting two ki balls straight through the Kale/Caulifla's blasts.
Frieza dominating Jimeze.
U9, U10 getting erased. The kamikaze fireballs getting erased.
Frieza ignoring Pepsiman as he enters his speed mode.
Vegeta saving Cabba.
Hit dominating Dyspo.
Goku pushing himself in every way he can, even if it means overly suppressing himself, using his transformations too much/suboptimally, or taking a massive beating. Admirable. Whatever it takes.
Jiren basically 0-shotting Maji-kayo, PRE-any powering up.
17 annihilating the 2 universe 2 girls.
18 nixing Ribrianne.
17 and 18s sibling moment.
Father-Son Kamehameha
Beerus showing extreme emotion during Goku's and Champa's "demises."
Whis' commentary, when it's useful.
The U6 Kai getting competitive and passionate.
Goku getting upset that Jiren saw him as fodder upon entering his meditation.
Jiren deciding to enter meditation and floating on a stage where flying is impossible.
Gohan slam dunking the Namekian into the ground.
Nail and Kami motivating Piccolo.
The Grand Priest's ambiguous attitude toward much of this tournament.
Vegeta being upset at the erasure of the U6 Saiyans.
Toppo's terse remark about Vegeta being second fiddle.
Goku and the Androids trying to be posers like the U2 fighters.
Jiren
U7 dominating the tournie (thus far).
Everything about 109, 110, with very few exceptions. The scoring, the action, the tension, UI's introduction, the drama.
Hit getting bodied by Jiren. Specifically Jiren, while still frozen in time, crushing Hit's full power ki blast with one hand.
UI Goku's power-up in 116.
UI Goku vs Kafla.
UI Goku beam surfing and finessing Kafla.
Many more, getting bored of typing.

Re: Favourite moments in the Tournament of Power.
Obvious but...
ULTRA INSTINCT.
Nothing tops that, sorry.
Muten Roshi. Now he was a pleasant surprise. Just like Beerus, my opinion of him has improved.
Any moment with Freeza too. Such a wildcard. While I always respected Freeza and held him as DB's best villain, I never truly liked him so much until this arc. I can't put it into words yet but...
Android 17. Bringing him back was a good decision. I like him more now than before.
Pretty short, but that's it.
(I'd have said Hit, but his loss to Jiren so early in the tournament still sours me. )
Re: Favourite moments in the Tournament of Power.
1) Basil dripping the first "blood" in EP 97
2) Universe 9's Erasure (some much needed moments of utter dread and despair in this tournament of survival)
3) Krillin and 18's teamwork chemistry against Shosa and Majora (too bad Krillin had to be the first U7 fighter to take the L)
4) Caulifla avenging her protegee's brutal beatdown
5) 17's rude interruption of the Kamikaze Fireball's "ritual"
6) Obuni v. Gohan (had an interesting dynamic with each other that could've been further explored throughout the tournament)
7) Everytime Roshi's on screen (even as an old camper that's been long but surpassed by many fighters, he still proves his martial arts prowess to the point of even gaining a God of Destruction's admiration)
Frost sealing Vegeta and an inkling from eliminating both of U7's representatives
9) Freeza showing Helles the true face of genuine unbridled depravity
10) Frost's utter disbelief that his "senpai" set him up (ironically beautiful twist of fate that the backstabber gets a taste of his own medicine)
11) The entirety of Jiren v. Goku (established Jiren's class of power compared to Goku)
12) Ultra Instinct marking its first debut on the show
13) Freeza lending Goku some of his energy to slightly replenish him (in yet another ironic moment, an exhausted Goku is now the one having to lay on Freeza's feet in need for some energy.)
14) Hit v. Jiren (one could've expected the once legendary assassin of U6 to be left in dirt to serve as a mere laughingstock, but not before nearly pushing the Big Bad off the edge)
15) Cabba's first awakening of SSJ2 (first time in forever that I've felt some emotional attachment to a U6 Saiyan reaching a new plateau in power)
16) Caulifla and Kale double teaming Goku in heavenly Takahashi glory
17) The reawakening of Ultra Instinct
18) UI Goku v. Kefla (the action was truly dynamic along with some great storyboarding)
19) 17 and 18 really do play off each other well against the remaining of the Kamikaze Fireballs
20) Ending bit with Shin's corniest commentary of the "power of love" only to be shut down by 18

Re: Favourite moments in the Tournament of Power.
Ribrainne's love speeches were fun. Kale and Cauli's moment in #114 was also well written. I can't think of anything else. Not much stands out in the Tournament of Boredom for me.
Re: Favourite moments in the Tournament of Power.
Screw it, let's do one for each episode.
97: Hit and Basil double-teaming Nariama. Basil in general was surprise MVP of that first episode.
98: Ro screaming out to Zeno as he gets erased. Nice way to show they're not fucking around with the stakes.
99: Krillin and 18's Zelda tennis attack.
100: Jiren jumping in to stop Kale.
101: The Christmas Beam team special.
102: Toppo randomly showing up to White Knight the magical girls.
103: Gohan's reaction to the erased Universe 10.
104: "Bring me my vuvuzela!"
105: Roshi's whole damn speech as he charges up the Max-Power Kamehameha
106: Tien's clones showing up to take down Hermila.
107: As I said before, Frost snagging Vegeta with the Mafuba.
108: Zeno erasing Frost.
109: "I'll wait." "Matte iru."
110: Goku walking through the Justice Flash.
111: Hit landing that one blow that almost knocked Jiren off.
112: Caulifla challenging Goku at the end. Incidentally, Masako Nozawa's confused "thank you!" was adorable.
113: Goku powering up to Super Saiyan 2. I know 3 was meant to be the highlight, but I preferred the bit with 2.
114: Kale putting Goku in the arm bar while Caulifla beats on him.
115: The return of Ultra Instinct.
116:...do I even have to say it?
117: 18 and 17's 'Rules of Nature' moment.
118: Really, the whole final sequence was great, but special shout out to Saonel pulling himself through the beam in a last ditch effort to strike Gohan.

Most of what Roshi got.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Re: Favourite moments in the Tournament of Power.
I do I have listened to Zamasu's theme so many times that i instantly recognized it when they started playing it in that episode (even though it was a remix of the original theme). Regardless, i would love if that had been an intentional tribute from the writers, since Zamasu did warn his fellow Gods that mortals were gaining too much power - and you did see several Supreme Kais and Gods of Destruction concerned and frightened by Goku's achievement. You definitely like Zamasu a lot.

Holy shit. Your read my mind perfectly because this is pretty much my list of favorite moments of this arc, too. Expect my favorite moment in Episode 117 was #18 punching a hole through Giant Ribrianne's head.Kataphrut wrote:Screw it, let's do one for each episode.

Re: Favourite moments in the Tournament of Power.
My favorite moments are probably linked to my favorite characters in this arc. But I will try to cite a few.
My #1 is definitely Ultra Instinct’s first transformation and fight. Following it, the moment in which Goku slided through Kafla’s beam with his charged kamehameha ball.
Hit’s fight with Jiren and Dyspo. 17’s fight with Kakunsa when he started to get a bit serious, Kale’s last berserker transformation (very well animated and powerful moment in my opinion). Roshi’s individual fights and releasing Vegeta from Frost’s hands. Freeza giving energy to Goku and betraying Frost.

I'm doing it for all the episodes
Episode 97:Hit & basil stopping narirama
Mostly active on discord.
Re: Favourite moments in the Tournament of Power.
I can't remember every single episode, but I do have a few and I hope I get them in chronological order.
- Piccolo's planning in 106
- Goku vs Jiren
- everything from Yuya Takashi in 114
- Kefla's reveal and her borderline maniacal laugh when she was discovering how powerful she is
- the beam slide
- almost everything in 118, but special mention goes out to Piccolo seeing Nail and Kami, the double Kamehameha/makankosappo scene, and Caulifla chasing Saonel and Pirina around.

Re: Favourite moments in the Tournament of Power.
I'll just do the one moment per episode thing some people have already done. Even though I didn't like every episode of the tournament, there were at least one or two scenes I liked in each one.
97 - Goku and Jiren face off for a few seconds.
98 - The erasure of Universe 9.
99 - Kuririn's teamwork with 18.
100 - Caulifla and Goku fighting.
101 - The christmas beam.
102 - 17 interrupting the transformation and everything that happened because of that.
103 - Gohan seeing the pendant.
104 - Dyspo phasing through Hit and almost falling off.
105 - Roshi's speech at the end.
106 - Dr. Rota's ability.
107 - Frost trapping Vegeta.
108 - Freeza and Gohan's teamwork.
109 - Blue Goku vs Jiren.
110 - Takahashi's scene with the rotation.
111 - Hit's speech.
112 - Freeza toying with Cabba.
113 - Goku whooping Caulifla's ass in base.
