Feel like I finally need to actually get down my thoughts on the movie lol, because I cannot stop thinking about it.

I think it's outstanding. I think it is the best peice of DB media outside of the manga. I was not expecting to be so captivated by it at all. Putting it in the spoiler tag cuz longish...

It's easier to say what I don't like, so...
I really, really, really don't like the 3D shit on the characters. I think it is jarring and kinda ugly. I've seen a lot of people say it's fine or they like it, and that's cool, but for me, it's so distracting. It's very hard to explain why I hate it though, other than to say it looks... wrong. It's as if the characters go go from being fluid to being stuck under stobe lights, where their movements suddenly become jerky and joints less supple. I've always been weird about 3D animation though and I often can't look past things that just don't bother other people, especially when it comes to organic animal or human forms making macro movements with their limbs, like walking. That recent Watership Down remake was driving me absolutely insane when I caught glimpses of it on the TV over Xmas, whilst my family wondered wtf my problem was. I'm the guy who wishes creatures in movies would go back to being puppets. So, I get it, I'm fussy. That's cool. Personal taste thing.
The other thing I'm not keen on is... I don't know. The first half is weird? I have weird feelings about the first half. It's so gappy, yet goes on too long? Like, there's clearly loads missing that would give it so much more depth, but it still outstays its welcome.
I don't like the fast forward bit with the shitty Head Cha La rendition. It's weird. Feels tonally off. It's a crappy version of the song. Suddenly felt very Super and uhhhhh.

I love everything else. I legit love everything else.

Some personal highlights for me...
The music is amazing. Mostly. I think it really works well with the action and delivers what a soundtrack should... Mood! I love the chanting! I think it's really cool, works so well in context. Really hypes up the scene. Really delivers the experience as an epic match that I've been waiting for for 15 years.
The animation is beautiful - the characters gorgeous and they move in the most flamboyant and powerful ways. Vegeta's rampage of calling Goku stupid over and over is so good. The shot of Goku's foot when he stalls Broly and then Broly works out how to use it against him. So. Good. The scene where Broly is manically panting and crying like an insane animal looking down at Goku and mimicking his posture. *BREATH* Beautiful. Goku's talk with Piccolo. Moving. The entire fights except CGI elements are just perfect, relentless, chaos. Hnnnngggg! It barely gives you time to breath. It's an onslaught. It's perfect.
Broly is awesome... I love this Broly. I love that when he's manic, he really feels manic. He's uncomfortably manic. That shit is scary. I hated old Broly, always loved the idea of him, and I think they've taken what matters here and made it interesting. I love that they make a big-ol deal about the Great Ape, too. I like where this is going. I like this idea of Broly as some freak of nature that's the embodiment of the ancient biology of saiyans, I guess? That's the vibe I'm getting and I dig it.
All the little teases... Green hair Vegeta? WHATS THAT? Ultra Instinct flash! AH! Ahhh!
Gogeta smirking. Actually no, this should have gone in the bad list.... There wasn't enough cocky Gogeta for my liking! There can never be enough!
The humour actually legitimately being hilarious... My personal favourite is Whis' "oh my", but others obviously include Freeza's murder of Paragus (god dammit Chris Ayres you're amazing), and Goku's "have fun Freeza!" I was crying.
Characterisations feel right again. Goku and Vegeta felt weird through a lot of Super for me. I'm fine with characters evolving, but Goku was ....weird and even Vegeta felt kind of wrong a lot of the time to me. Here they behave like I expect them to. Vegeta is so on edge and serious and worried about Goku having resurrected Freeza. Goku is a goof, but when things get serious he's worried.

Actually I've thought of another thing I was a bit eh on... The ending ain't great, but it's also so DB I don't... Care?

The real highlight though, especially during my second viewing, was the audience loosing their shit, clapping, cheering. Was amazing.

I wish I could go back to being 14 and see this movie. It would have made me so, so happy at a otherwise really miserable time.

Unlike them, I'm not bashing the new Broly and say that he should never come back... its just weird that people are still bashing the old Broly, that's why I said they should at least be thankful that the old one was made.

Seems like the OG crew finally made it into movie canon... not? Well either way they'd still be offed in the same manner as the TV special it seems. The Frieza cronies are even exactly the same as they were in the special.

It's lunacy when you hear that. Considering classic Broly is very popular. I'm wondering if their mad cause Movie 8 Broly didn't want to be anybody's friend, was the offender instead of the victim, wrapped Paragus up in tinfoil and cooked him, nice one liners and was clad in kings gold while doing all of it with a smile.

I disagreed because Uub displayed an innate ability when he fought Goku; he learned to fight as he fought. That combined with him somehow acquiring his old majin powers would make him a force comparable to Goku, especially cause he too could potentially learn Ultra Instinct, given his talents.

With Broly, though, now even I feel Uub is useless. Broly checks off all the marks for Goku. Infinitely stronger than him without any formal training? Check. Good guy willing to protect his loved ones? Check. Someone Goku wants to teach? Check. Never-ending growing power as he fights? Check. He has most of Uub's qualities, only he's actually cool. Why on Earth would Goku be even slightly excited over Uub when Broly exists? Could Uub's potential realistically be greater than Broly's? As in, if it is, would people agree with this, or facepalm greatly?

This is a good point. They have definitely made UUb pretty inconsequential. Perhaps all that could be said now is that Folu likes a challenge even if it isn’t one that tests all of his limits. You could also argue that he isn’t really sure what limits In might actually have so he is excited still to see. It could potentially be even higher with training, who knows. Toriyama never really showed us where UUb would be with training.

The only way Uub could remain viable is if he just has massive potential as the reincarnation of Kid Buu. We saw how Buu and Frieza improved through training, perhaps that's the angle they could approach it.

I completely agree though. Unless they totally wank him to some absolutely absurd potential, I don't much see the point

Well I've seen the sub and the dub now...

The dub ain't that stinky but pretty much everyone here would be against it anyway, right? Though one line change I kinda liked was "HELLO, MONKEYS!" instead of "Greetings." but that's because of how well it was read, worst line change is probably "What in the Multiverse is going on?!" because it sounds so forced and cringy, especially from Piccolo. They REALLY should have shown sub and dub everywhere, let the people choose which version they want to see!
