Dragon Ball Super Cantonese dub finally coming out!!!
Just checked Facebook. Disappointingly, it's not coming to TVB. It's making it's Hong Kong debut on Viu TV tonight.

Is it just the original Japanese version with subs?

Hong Kong usually airs anime in both Japanese and Cantonese. Viu TV hasn't been very clear on how it's being aired. From my understanding, it's only streaming on their site only. Gotta give it to Viu TV for picking up TVB's slack in recent years. And their Cantonese dub of One Punch Man was spot on.

No word. Viu TV is probably our only hope for a Cantonese dub.wjbraden wrote:Anymore news as to whether Viu is going to air the show dubbed?tinlunlau wrote:TheRed259 wrote:Is it just the original Japanese version with subs?

A teaser ad just showed up on Facebook saying that TVB is airing Dragon Ball Super starting April 9th under the title 龍珠三世. Can't tell if this is for real or an April fools prank.

Did it turn out to be true, the TVB airing that is?

Re: Dragon Ball Super anime finally gets its Hong Kong debut
Sorry for necroposting but it has come to my attention that Viu TV will finally start streaming Dragon Ball Super starting May 28th. I'm assuming they'll release 10 Cantonese dubbed episodes weekly.

This would mark the premiere of the dub, correct?

Great, thanks! Do you know if this is streaming-only, or will it air on the channel itself too?tinlunlau wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 8:27 pmYes, that's exactly what it means.

Re: Dragon Ball Super Cantonese dub finally coming out!!!
Ok thanks, I'll just keep streaming-only for now in my dubs list.

Re: Dragon Ball Super Cantonese dub finally coming out!!!
Just watched the first Cantonese dubbed episode. Sure, none of the old voice actors from dbz return but they worked with what's available to them. Most of the old actors have either retired or immigrated. They coulda at least get the Piccolo voice actor back as I know that particular voice actor is no longer with TVB right now.
