It was the essential reasons for why U7 won and a terrible story point. Vegeta got a friendship boost twice. Goku without the friendship boosts would of lost to Jiren.
This was not classic Dragonball, I'm willing to bet since the manga is more like OG Dragonball it won't go that route.

Not really impressed. The anime did a much better job. In the Manga, it just looks like Toyotaro is fed up with this shit, and he's rushing to the final fight. He crams tons of elimination in one chapter, fails to make characters interesting, sacrifices a lot of matchups, and doesn't use any of the 80 fighters in a unique way. Most people don't like what the anime did, but at least they tried to use most characters and give them unique abilities, which in my opinion, gave us some of the most entertaining episodes of Super

That's probably because he is on both. He's stuck doing an arc that is in no way fit to be in a manga let alone the one he's doing and he most likely has a deadline for when it has to wrap up so he can move onto Broly.

There's too much going on from there being 80 fighters to the countless fights they took part in which isn't the easiest thing to do in a monthly manga that you're expecting to finish at a certain time.

Yeah the manga shows the cons of the story being envisioned primarily for a weekly television show, it's also why we got all these colourful transformations: red, blue, pink, silver etc the manga being stuck in BW loses that sure he colours hair darker but it ain't the same thing.

Honestly they should have made Toyotaro just do completely different stories in his manga, especially once the TV overtook 'cuz it's rather hard for me to even have remote interest in the manga currently.

They already let him change things up so they should've just let him cut down the number of fighters or even universes. At least that way we would've got a more consistent story.

Super manga has done an great job. The excution of all chapters have been logical, the power scialing makes sense, the charicaterization has been awesome. I wished we got some more chapters like 36 (ONE more chapter) so we could help flesh out fodder but honestly if the dbs manga was jst adapted I'm sure we could have gotten that thouhg. But the manga has been WAY better then the anime ToP.

It was already stated back in Episode 110 that the more Goku fought while using Ultra Instinct, the quicker his movements became, as well as how much damage he could dish out. Goku was literally evolving in battle whenever he used Ultra Instinct.

It isn't stated stated verbatim that Goku increasing in speed was because of his friends. Piccolo just makes the simple statement of how Goku isn't fighting for himself and is bearing the hopes of his universe's survival, while Roshi adds another layer to that statement with the Goku overall journey in to incredible power is because of the support he has from others.

Shin: Son Goku's speed has increased even more!"
Belmound: Impossible! How can that be?!"
Piccolo: "You can't even figure that out?

^Piccolo answered Belmound's question as to why the increase in power/speed all of a sudden. Goku even starts overpowering Jiren after Jiren just overpowered UI.

:x The whole narrative of toei making goku beat jiren based on friendship was stupid, and yes he did get up because of friend boost. Jiren punched him to the ground flat, and he thought about his friend which somehow revved up his power though it kinda make sense, pushing to your limits so you can protect your friends but at the same it was portrayed kinda terribly. And honestly, the fact that goku mastered UI in like 30 minutes of using it even though he came in the tourney weaker then all gods and mastered it through contribed reason is honestly stupid. The way how he kept getting losing stamnia and the. Just power to ssj3 in like 5 minutes afterward was just dumb. The anime of super is pretty trashy when you really look at it.

Piccolo just states that Goku isn't fighting for him and that he's bearing the hopes of his allies. Not that simply because he has friend and Jiren doesn't. And Piccolo was more or less insulting Belmound for not realizing how Goku was able to improve himself in battle while using Ultra Insticnt, while Piccolo was able to back in Episode 110. Despite the fact that Belmound is Hakaishin and has knowledge of the technique, while Piccolo, a mere more who had no idea what Ultra Instinct, was able to pick up on the subtle idiosyncrasies related to Goku's evolution in combat while using Ultra Instinct.

That statement in itself continues the trend of the Universe 7 fighters talking to the Gods of Universe 11 from the previous episode (Episode 129) where Belmound arrogantly believed that Universe 11 were going to win and talked down the idea of Goku mastering Ultra Instinct and surpassing Jiren. Only for Vegeta to wonderfully rebut him with the statement of how the Saiyans of the Tournament Of Power broke through their limits time and time again.

Also, Goku didn't just immediately overpower Jiren. The battle still remained incredibly even despite Goku's increase in speed (not power), until the very end.

No, watch the video again, goku got up and miracaurly got stronger since he's "bearing the hope" of universe 7, it was never stated how he evoluved. Mui was literally the completion of his UI Oomen, so you're just making up headcanon to defend bad writing. Stop doing that please. And the fact that goku got UI in the first place is because he survived a spirit bomb? WHAT? That's trash writing and you know it, and to dodge on your own. Why do you to have a tranformation to perform a technquie? berrus dosen't (dbs manga 28) so why does goku? And why is goku's aura like that? and why does jiren share the same aura if he dosen't have UI? The anime of super is pretty garbage TBH. It dosen't explain anything, it has a ploterha of BAD WRITING and which is why it's way worse then the manga of super IMO. ANIME of super =

No, Goku's UI was already mastered, while back in 110, Goku was growing to master it, big difference. Goku's speed increased suddenly and Belmound wanted to know why. It was because of his friends. Did you forget Belmound was already schooled by Vegeta on saiyan limts breaking? This is when Goku still had a chance to improve by mastering UI. Since Goku has mastered it, Belmound now wants to know what's the deal NOW?

Piccolo's comment does not provide an context of Goku's speed increasing just because of his allies. Piccolo states that Goku is carrying the responsibility of saving their fucking universe from being erased. It has nothing to with special ties or "friendship". It's simply the fact that one man (Goku) still retains the resolve to carry on fighting knowing full well what is at stake and taking into account what is happening with his battle against Jiren.

As far as the cast were concerned, Goku was the only thing preventing Universe 7 from being wiped from existence, so naturally they put all their faith in Goku to win, not because of friendship, because they don't want to be erased by Zeno(s). Goku is aware of this, and so is Piccolo.

And Piccolo is also aware that, even in extreme circumstances where billions of lives are on the line, Goku can act selfish and be in it for himself (Cell Games), hence why he remarks that Goku isn't only fighting for himself, prior to stating that Goku is bearing the hopes of Universe 7 in a battle that determine whether Universe 7 lives or doesn't.

If Piccolo had stated that Goku had special ties, or explicitly stated that Goku has allies and Jiren doesn't, then I'd side with you argument. But that's not the case. I don't know how faith in a single person to prevent universal destruction can be misconstrued as simply the "power of friendship".

With regards to how Goku's speed increased -- even though it made no difference -- it ties back to what Vegeta stated in Episode 129: the Saiyans find ways to break through their limits time and time again. Goku found a way to somewhat improve on the complete Ultra Instinct ability.

I don't think Goku ever acknowledged the stakes of his situation. He does mention his friends though.

He states that everyone of Universe 7 is trusting in him to win, so he's fully aware of how much responsibility is on his shoulders to beat Jiren and save Universe 7 from erasure. And it's not as if the feeling isn't mutual to Jiren, as he also states that no matter, he'll never lose, because if he does Universe 11 would be erased. I mean, as much as an asshole Jiren turned out to be, he still gives a shit about the well being of his universe as much as Goku does.

And it's now as if the feeling isn't mutual to Jiren, as he also states the no matter, he'll never lose, because if he does Universe 11 would be erased. I mean, as much as an asshole Jiren turned out to be, he still gives a shit about the well being of his universe as much as Goku does.
Sounds like a friendship boost to me.
