They should have Piccolo move on and live on Namek and be not shown anymore unless you want to involve him in the story in a meaningful way. Having him around serves no real purpose.
The others like Tien, Yamcha, Roshi live on Earth but they could just disappear as well.
The saiyans are relevant so having the others as background decoration is getting redundant.
