Turns out we now have a supposed reasoning behind Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero coming to theatres so late in Hong Kong. One Piece: Red is coming to Hong Kong on August 25th. Can't have Toei compete against themselves at the same time.
The world is your's.

That's great news. Unless I'm mistaken this is the first movie of the revival era to get a Polish dub right? I know other than Z movies 12, 13 and Super most Dragon Ball content in Poland has been lektored.
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula

Just to inform on the Malaysia side of things, it seems like they have been pushing the dates around a bit. I'm not sure if this is worth mentioning or not, but it's something I find interesting.

This post from the Sony Pictures Malaysia Facebook page and the following from there mentions that it is releasing on the 1st September, instead of the 30th August like in the video, although there are screenings already starting today on the 30th.

My guess is that they are placing the date there since Thursday is usually the day new movies get released.

Also, do you think we can have a forum thread dedicating to the marketing campaign of the movie globally? I think it would be interesting to catalogue how it was promoted, as I've encountered a promotional stand earlier today.

I wonder if it'll get dubbed.

While Crunchyroll's blog posts aren't always accurate with little details like these, I'll assume it means there's a few more unannounced dubs on the way.

Very nice, from what I can tell this is the first time anything Dragon Ball has been released in those countries (same with Djibouti, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritania, Nigeria, Northern Mariana Islands, Tanzania and Zambia). I hope that Super Hero does well there, and this franchise gains some new fans in those territories.

Well, if you ask me this movie would probably be a hard sell if this was my introduction to the franchise still. Technically a newbie can come in and the movie on its own gives out enough for those not on the know to understand the story, though the callbacks and other characters would make me scratch my head if I came in blind without so much as a cursory glance on this Goku guy they keep talking about. Though, there are always, ahem, alternative means of accessing the shows or manga...

Regardless, I find it interesting that Sony at the very least is giving it a global release as if it were a blockbuster film they'd produce also, especially in areas where crunchyroll is not exactly well known or, in my country, lacking in content and another licensor might be more prominent in terms of the distribution of the dragon ball franchise. Now if only they would give it a proper physical/not super expensive digital release...
