Gas: The Poor Sap of Dragon Ball Super

Post by Geraldo » Thu Aug 18, 2022 7:01 am

I will write this character conclusion post before we'll be able to read the 87th chapter of the DBS manga, which was undoubtedly a forced rushed ending because people were mocking 'utter defeat' "WE'RE REACHING THE CLIMAX" Uchida online, and it made him cry in his room and yell at Toyotaro to finish the arc at once if he wants to retain his job.

So, Gas was born into this power hungry family of warmongers, as the youngest sibling. Since young age he was educated to murder and deception. He spends the early years of his life as the weakest link in his family. This was to change when his eldest brother, Elec, took him as his personal project and trained him to be the pride of their family.

One day, on a normal task of swindling another party (the Frieza Force) to do the dirty work of committing a mass genocide at Planet Cereal, Gas finds himself fighting a low level Saiyan soldier who just a few minutes ago had a change of heart from a serial killer to a warm and fuzzy vigelenty, who for some reason (plot armor) pulls a False Super Saiyan transformation and beats the living hell out of him.

Gas is left naked both physically and mentally, he took it upon himself to kill this low level Saiyan, and got his butt handed to him. His sole speciality was turned into a farce. Anyone can pop out of nowhere and kick his butt. He must have lived in fear and stress. Not fully trusting himself to be able and win fights.

Then, Elec decides to take the sole Cearealite surviving brat who caused him to clash with Bardock and experience this humiliation, and grooms him to be their top muscle to hire. He has to cope with this for over 40 years, despite wanting to hit Granolah till he drops dead.

One day, after putting the Cearealite in his place with ease, he discovers that this nobody just wished to be the strongest in the universe, and got his power inflate to a different realm. Not only that, he was prevented from trying his own strength (which is puny) against his opponent, since his eldest brother feared that he'll die in the process but sugercoats it.

Afterwards, his own "loving" and admired brother sets him up and sacrifices his life force without asking him to turn him into the supposed "stronest in the universe" so his family will be able to take over the Frieza Force and the universe; Elec sends him off to the battlefield and goes to call Frieza to come over in hopes he'll be a goner by Gas' new power.

As the fight goes on, Gas' sheer power is proven to be on top, but constantly getting surpassed for brief moments by the Saiyans and Granolah, even his "dangerous" transformation and his collected transformed self fall short in this brawl to the death. Then, Elec orders him to commit suicide and push his life force closer and closer to his death in order to overpower his opponents and to kill his family's threats in making a shortcut to be the tyranny of the universe.

Gas continues to push his life force away in hopes of defeating the three opponents for his Heeters' successful campaign, only to end up defeated. Badly. He survived thanks to Granolah's pity who didn't went all out to kill him, as he came to the conclusion that revenge only prevented him from living a wholesome life.

Once Gas stands up, he sneakily murders Monaito and returns to brawling Goku and Vegeta. He makes them feel his wrath, but is sent flying into the river. As Macki and Oil fear he might soon expire, Elec doesn't give a crap about it and slaps his sister to shut her complaints off.

Gas wastes almost all of his life force and is shocked to see what his brother had made him become (a walking skeleton), (the unknowingly invited to his own funeral) Frieza shows up from nowhere, and attacks the shocked at what is left of him Gas, who is already on his last legs. Gas apparently tries his best to hit Frieza back, but expires as the tyrant managed to pierce his dying breath abdomen.

Overall, Gas was a child who's power was put in the shambles in front of his admired brother. Who moved into constantly training and living in his brother's shadow as a lackey. Then his supposedly loving brother tricks him and sacrifice him as a chess soldier, only to fall short in his plans and have Gas experience constant defeats one after the other, and to get the short end of the stick and to die in the midst of fighting his family's biggest enemy, Frieza.

I hope that Granolah will use the Dragon Balls to undo the last two wishes and will revive Gas, for the very least.

Poor Gas

And well, I doubt Granolah'll do that, he's washed his hands of the Heeters (& presumably Freeza) whilst having accepted himself to living for 3 more years in quiet peace with his Namekian pseudo-grandpa, the most he'd afforded Gas was defeat, mercy & leaving him alone after
