One thing that everyone who saw this can agree on: BEST display of Vegeta's badassery. The episode was PACKED with Vegeta being the cunning, ruthless, evil bastard that he is.

Also, that ending, holy CRAP:

The episode covered a total of 42 and a half page. Starting off at the point last episode ended, we get the last three pages of chapter 265, with Vegeta waking up and breaking out of the tank, then locating Freeza's Dragonballs. We then get the first page and a half from chapter 266, with Gohan finding the destroyed village, and concluding it was Vegeta's doings. We then cut to page 4, with Zarbon and Freeza searching for Vegeta while Vegeta steals their Dragonballs. This scene goes on until Vegeta swims away under water, and Freeza sends Zarbon to look for him, going from page 4 up to page 11. We then go back to where we left off at page 2, where Gohan takes out the Dragon Radar and locates the Dragonball Vegeta hid under water, flying away with it. Going back to page 12, we get Vegeta hiding Freeza's Dragonballs, then locating Kuririn, the eyecatcher coming in at the conclusion of chapter 266.

After the eyecatcher, we start at the beginning of chapter 267 with Vegeta chasing Kuririn and Zarbon starting to follow them both, as they all eventually land before Bulma. DBZ added a scene of Zarbon fighting Vegeta for a bit before transforming that Kai also tosses in, as well as a random scene with Gohan flying. It concludes with Vegeta killing Zarbon, halfway through page 12 of chapter 268.

Anime-wise, this episode begins near the end of DBZ episode 55. This episode is largely filler, starting with some scenes of Goku training, then moving to the guys at Kaiou's for most of the remainder of the episode, giving us the short shot of Vegeta, Zarbon and Appule Kai 25 ended with right before the eyecatcher, before going back to Kaiou filler for another 7 minutes. The episode concludes with those 3 last pages of chapter 265.

DBZ episode 56 starts directly at page 4 of 266, going up until page 11, then inserting the first part of the Gohan at the village scene after the final shot of Vegeta swimming away. We then get the scene with Vegeta noticing Kuririn, Z 56's eyecatcher coming in at the same spot as Kai 26's.
Post-eyecatcher, the scene with Gohan finding the Dragonball finally appears, and we get the 10 first pages of 267 after this, with a lengthy Goku filler scene roughly halfway through them. The episode ends with Zarbon touching down.

Episode 57 covers the entire Zarbon battle, but throws in a running subplot with Goku having trouble with electric storms that it cuts to constantly, breaking the flow of the battle. It also moves a shot of Kuririn and Bulma trying to escape into the filler battle between the untransformed Zarbon and Vegeta for some reason, Kai moves this back to it's proper position. This episode ends at the same point as chapter 268.

Really good episode, and good place to end it, but I still can`t get used to these redrawn scenes. At one point Freeza is drawn awfully.

Here are the re-drawn scenes. They really weren't that bad in this episode, we've seen worse...

During this fight they added this fade effect that really sucked. You really have to see it for yourself to know what I'm talking about.

Oh, and this isn't re-drawn but I just loved the look on Freeza's face...

I didn't mind the fade/shadows. Did seem odd because it wasn't consistent with the rest of the fight, but that's it. I do prefer Kai's other redrawn battle effects over that effect though.

Very early on, with the ripple effects against Raditz, it did look a odd. But the redrawn blur effects and stuff during the Nappa/Vegeta fights I loved.

In Z, there's no tear in Vegeta's sleeve, like there should be. So in Kai they tried to fix this inconsistency by adding a tear, though I'm not sure why they gave him the tribal tattoo.

Those reanimated screenshots don't look half bad. I didn't love them at first but the more and more I looked at them I started appreciating how slick they looked. I really love the new colors.

Now I will admit I haven't watched Kai at all other than ep. 25 (I have to go back on the others) but I will admit I enjoyed this episode. Also in the fight I'm pretty sure Vegeta's armor is fixed I need to go back on it.

I haven't been watching Kai. I saw like half of the first episode... But, how is the jitter? Did they reduce it? Assuming there's no jitter in the redrawn scenes, is it glaringly obvious?

I haven't really noticed any, but I've only been watching about half of the episodes in HD, and the other half on my Zune.
