Dragon Dub Z: The Series

Post by Innagadadavida » Fri Oct 30, 2009 12:45 am

As old school viewers of WeeklyTubeShow may remember, back in 2006 there was a planned "abridged series" of Dragon Ball Z, called Dragon Dub Z. Unfortunately, it was canceled "due to life." All hope seemed lost when suddenly out of nowhere, the creator decided to finally start the project as a collaboration with yours truly. With the comedic pastries and lovable characters of WeeklyTubeShow, and, well, that other guy, we are proud to present, Dragon Dub Z: The Series.

Dragon Dub Z, for those who don't know, is a series of short dubbed clips from various parts of Dragon Ball, Z, and GT. These short videos have been coming out on YouTube in short trickles for the past three years. The video, Piccolo Lays a Beating, being the most popular has become a pseudo-meme sparking fan remixes and parodies. Newly edited versions of the old videos can be found on WeeklyTubeShow's new channel along side the series.

But we're really here for the series. This is the first of many to come. It's a prelude, or back story, explaining where we are and why we're here. The story will begin at the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai. It isn't episode one, but it's an important part of the series so watch it like it is.

Comments, feedback, criticism. It's all welcome. Special thanks to MugiMikey who plays Kid Goku. And special thanks to all the fans who pushed WeeklyTube to continue doing his videos.

I was on vacation when it was up, but I know that quite a few people saw it. I had some comments about it before it was on YouTube, so yeah.

By the way, what is a stream and how does it work. And where is it?
Was it just some sort of showing on your server or something?

Yeah, the Big Ol' Band-Aid is my favorite joke. I so hope he asks Gokû the first time they meet at the Tenka'ichi is he has one.

Was that a jab at Alternate Reality DBZ @ 2:33?
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Call me an ignorant, blindsided *#$!head but what is 'Alternate Reality DBZ'? :?

One of my favorite lines is early in this one:

1:00-1:07
King Piccolo: "Boy you ain't nothin! You're going to taste my ding!!!"
Son Goku: "That's not for EATING!!!" Perfect Goku response. 8)

The ape sound during Goku's attack was a nice touch.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

I'm probably reviving a dead thread, but this is the first time I see it, and I must say it's great.

Dunno when we'll have the drive to do episode one. We must have written it and scrapped it twice by now. But Remix is still getting small bursts of creativity and we've done two shorts since the prelude. Another one is fully recorded and waiting to be edited. I'll do that one soon.
