Those comments are giving this series far, far too much credit. And it's a little silly, expecting Akira Toriyama or Toei to get in on this.

It's Youtube, what can you expect . I will still give the show a chance and hope that they can give us more story and character development in the later episodes. I don't like how people judge the show based on one episode. It reminds me how people were with Demo Reel when the first episode came out.

The animation was beyond fantastic, and while I did like the music for what it was, this is the exact opposite direction I would've liked to see the series go. I really don't like any of the creative choices, and this pretty much epitomizes everything wrong with the English Dragon Ball fan-base.

Still, I subscribed. I'll stay on board for now, if for no other reasons than the animation and Dende.

I really think you guys should tone down the DBZ fanfic/AF elements. And the acting could be improved on. Also what is up with Dende's voice? I know he's meant to be older but I think you guys overdid it WAY too much. Seriously, he sounds like a mix between Chris Sabat's Piccolo and Scot Mcneil's. That's not the kind of voice Dende should have IMO. Apart from that great work. Also I like the villains especially the main one and the little imp one.

I personally liked it for what it was myself. I'm not too fond of SSJ5 but hey the animation is great and the villain looks great so I'm definitely giving it a chance. It is nice seeing all the characters we love getting the useful treatment. They sure as hell needed it. Not sure why Uub has long hair, why Uub and Pan are married, and why Pan knows IT but hey its a fan work so I cant be too harsh. 3.5/5 overall.

For some reason the main villain's voice sounds like Bane from TDKR to me.

I thought the same thing when watching, I think it was something that was done on purpose. Actually it seems the Bane voice is pretty popular (i.e TFS Coola). Like how after Star Wars there seemed to be a boost in deep voiced villains who wore masks/helmets.

As far as I'm concerned this is what fans of the American version think/want Dragon Ball to be like. It feels so much more like an American cartoon than anime and definitely not like Dragon Ball. For one thing, they got the world wrong. I mean, Africa? If you put Africa in your Dragon Ball project... you just don't know enough about Dragon Ball to make something that is going to work in the long run. But this is where all the comments come from. People who have only seen the dub and haven't seen Dragon Ball in years and this is how they remember it was. Not the silly Dragon Ball most of us know :p The ACTUAL Akira Toriyama touch is gone :p It's not gone from Multiverse or from Abridged, because they know what they're doing. These guys just want to make their own series in the style they think Dragon Ball is, with Dragon Ball characters. They completely missed the point

That being said... it was actually pretty good in every other department Even trying to get an emotional scene, even though it's so unDragon Ball-ish, was at least tried with honest effort. They ARE trying to make something out of it that they think is cool, so I really have to commend them for it in that regard
