It's pretty silly, but I got a nice chuckle out of it.

I know it was meant to be a parody, but it was badly done and was at the point of just making fun of DBZ rather than it being a fun parody.

Haha that was crazy! :P
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Mega64 are huge fans of the series, don't be offended!

Rocco, the guy playing Goku, even says the Japanese names most of the time. I think you see manga pages up on Dr. Poque's wall in the show too.

Check out some of their other DBZ related videos here and here!

JINYU FORCE ASSEMBLE, HAAAA DOOOOOO KEEEEEN.

They discuss the show on the podcast sometimes too...

They sometimes read comments like that on the podcast, it'd be funny to see if they mention people complaining about a parody video and how it isn't respectful for the source material.

WE WERE REMARKABLY FAITHFUL TO THE SOURCE MATERIAL AS OUR TRAILER IS ALMOST LINE FOR LINE FROM AKIRA TORIYAMA'S SECRET NOTES (HE TEXTS US OFTEN)
There you go, shoatsout to Mega64 for getting Toriyama-sensei's secret notes.

Does this count as a fan-created work if FUNimation commissioned them to make it? Isn't it technically "official"?

That was pretty funny. I'm shocked that they used the Kikuchi score instead of the Bruce Faulconer score.

Of course they were making fun of DBZ. People really need to lighten up about this kind of thing and laugh at themselves a bit more; it makes you much happier.

Rocco at the very least is a fan of the Japanese version, but for the sake of the wider English speaking audience they went with dub names.

Best things about this:
1. Goku is fat.
2. Super Saiyan Piccolo
3. Super Saiyan 20 = Flaming Shoe

I love Mega64 videos and this was really cool of them, especially due to the fact they used the authentic music of the show rather than something else.

I recall seeing other live action attempts of Dragon Ball but despite how silly this one is, I find it to be better than the rest.

I thought this was hilarious. Kinda how everyone loves Weird Al and no one hates on him for "ruining songs". Then again, there's kind of an unsaid rule of you can't hate on Weird Al.
