You responding with this only leads me to believe that this is something you've deduced solely off of prior knowledge instead of actually getting an answer from Chris himself. The Ocean Studios dub of Dragon Ball Z Kai, from what we know, has no relation with AB Group. We know FUNimation is aware of the project, and they were working with Ocean Studios to produce an "edited for television" version of the show. Additionally, Chris Sabat stated on Twitter a while back that there are some "difficulties" surrounding the Ocean dub so it's not completely out of the realm to assume that he knows a little more about it than we do.

Well, Schemmel was the first guy to talk about it as he had apparently seen it so I think it's safe to assume Sabat might've as well. If he stated that he doesn't want to touch the topic beforehand I can understand but there's no reason to assume he doesn't know anything about it.

Btw it was never confirmed if AB Groupe were the ones who commissioned it.
