I sorta set this aside for the past month as I was too busy making an extended cut of David Lynch's Dune LOL

You may see a new episode uploaded though in the next two weeks.

Amazing job man! You somehow made it better then the original. I can't imagine the amount of work it takes to re-cut these, but looking forward to more releases

The Ginyu Force has finally landed [Episode 40 in my edit, 61 in the original / 28 in Kai]. Managed to get like 8 episodes done in the past 10 weeks (a new record).

Inside process on what I do to make the Kai footage match the 30th for this project. Settings may change on an episode by episode basis:

Original:

W/ custom Lumetri color settings, 20% sharpening, and grain applied:

I love the project you're doing. Are they still in MEGA?

Nope. Google Drive.

I do have a sample episode up on Archive.org though:

https://archive.org/details/dragon-ball ... rade-1080p

Might put them all up there after these Ginyu batch of episodes are finished.

I recall you saying something about musicless files, did you ever post those anywhere?

Also great job on the edit, I'm not a fan of Faulconer but I think the pacing of this cut is probably the best out of all the fanedits I've seen.

Merci!

I did a couple musicless files, but I stopped them only because I'd still be editing the files after I'd put the music in, thus resulting in those musicless versions to be up to 30-seconds to a minute off-sync in comparison.

Wow, this is perhaps the most ambitious cut/etc that I've seen (that's gotten off the ground anyway). Very cool; I loved the samples in here.

I'm aware that no hosting links will be posted on this site, but can anyone help me find where to go for all the episodes?

I'll be putting what's completed up on Archive.org shortly.

Be aware this is nowhere close to done (I've only completed up to Goku landing on Namek).

Yes!

Except with enough hiatuses to make Togashi look to have an exceptional work ethic.

Not sure if my PM was seen, so I'm just wondering where I can get the Google Drive link?

Quick update:

I am waiting for the release of the Selectavision Blu-rays before going any further. The 30th Anniversary footage has served me well in some places, but there are episodes that are so flat and watercolory that it clashes with the more three-dimensional Kai footage in comparison. I've realized I cannot go any further with the 30th footage (especially since I'm an episode or two away from hitting the 35mm shot episodes).

So just to be as transparent as possible:

SAIYAN SAGA - Cut using Level Set footage.

NAMEK SAGA / 1st half of GINYU episodes - Cut using re-colored & slightly sharpened Kai footage with the 30th Anniversary Funimation sets. (Certain episodes deemed unacceptable in quality will have Selectavision footage replace the 30th).

GINYU / FRIEZA SAGA thru CELL - Selectavision & Kai footage.

BUU SAGA - To be determined.

Is it possible for you to at least release the Saiyan saga somewhere? If not publicly, then could I at least get it via a PM?

This project is everything I've ever wanted for a fan-cut version of DBZ english dub. I can't wait for this to fully be finished and I hope those Selectavision blu-rays come quick!

Two suggestion even though they're WAY ahead in the future, would it be possible to squeeze in the General Tao filler from the Cell Games Saga and Launch's brief appearance at the Spirit bomb energy channeling against Kid Buu scenes? OG Dragon Ball callbacks like those are small but just add a nice feeling how far the story has come.

Anyways, keep up the great work!

Same here. Came here after a couple of years but can't find this anywhere. If you could please share a link?

Don't mean to bump this thread up, but it baffles me why the OP thinks Monica Rial and Colleen Clinkenbeard as Bulma and Gohan sounds natural as TIMESKIP voices. Like, what? They have higher pitched voices so if anything, Tiffany Volmer and Stephanie Nadolny work better for older voices.

I don't know. While I like Vollmer's pitch better for Bulma, I think Rial has more acting range & she's a good replacement for her. As for Gohan, I think Colleen does better to fit for his more timid & soft-spoken nature than Nadolny does, even if I think Nadolny fits a bit better for an older, pre-teen Gohan & her screams are better than Colleen's. I still do think that Nadolny's a better fit for kid Goku, though. Colleen uses the exact same voice she uses for Luffy as kid Goku & it's jarring every time I hear it.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.
Vic Mignogna: Good actor & singer, but a MAJOR douchebag & idiot.
