Diccolo's Combo rescore of Kai [An Ongoing Project]

Post by Diccolo-420 » Tue May 29, 2018 6:31 pm

This project's goal is to completely rescore Dragon Ball Z Kai from beginning to finish using tracks from all 4 composers (Sumitomo, Kikuichi, Yamamoto, Faulconer) as well as using remixed tracks that you might notice throughout it. Emphasis is heavy on Yamamoto followed by sumitomo and remixed faulconer and kikuichi

Huge thanks to Alter Vitoko ART for ripping the unreleased Kai TFC tracks, without those this wouldn't be possible.

To Norihito Sumitomo, Bruce Faulconer, Kenji Yamamoto, and Shunsuke Kikuchi for all being amazing composers

And to Akira Toriyama for creating the Dragon Ball Universe.

NOTE: These are not the actual episodes, only the audio files behind them. You will need to already have the episodes with the video files and mux the two together. These audio files are synched to the Kai Blu Ray editions. If you have some other edition the files might not appear to be in synch with the video footage.

Originally I provided AC3 and FLAC, however given how uploading has become increasingly difficult in regards to space, I am currently only providing AC3 files. If I do end up finding a glorious haven where I may upload FLAC's freely (NOT a torrent mind you), then this may change.

Howdy y'all, it's one of your friendly neighborhood kai rescore guys. This time around I decided to rework Kai with Sumitomo's pieces, containing stuff from Super, Kai TFC, and the movies respectively. See, even while working on the Faulconer Kai Rescore I always had an urge to do a Sumitomo rescore, but kept telling myself no and focus on the Faulconer Kai. Now that the Faulconer Rescore is out of the way, and I've taken a bit of a break but like a crack addict I can't stay away, I bring you this.

I'm doing this because Sumitomo's music got really good in Super, and some of his work in Kai TFC was great too. IMO it's the perfect blend between the orchestral and the synth/rock that's been the divide between Faulconer and Kikuchi fans. What's even better is that it's super easy to work with because I no longer have to be match cut every track right after the other. Plus, some of it was already done beforehand because I liked matching sumitomo to scenes previously, though it's just a few scenes here and there.

A lot of youtube clips with DBZ using sumitomo often use non DB sumitomo tracks. I will be adhering mostly to Sumitomo's Dragon Ball work, yet there will be times where I pull from non-DB sumitomo. Further, there will be some yamamoto tracks left over / spliced in, mostly just the vocal tracks like Saiyan Blood or Chilling Elegy, but also a couple of the sad tracks because they fit well with Sumitomo's style and some categories of Sumitomo is limited. However, this will be few and far between.

I am, however, looking for some non-DB sumitomo tracks that could help me out here. If anyone has any on hand that they'd like to contribute to this project feel free to PM me, I would greatly appreciate it as it would add more variety (for instance there's one I can't find where someone rescored vegeta's sacrifice with sumitomo, if anyone remembers)

Anywho, enough of my rambling. Enjoy!

CURRENT STATUSLol this bad boy is gonna be in progress for a while, but the first 5 are done as of now

The music used in this product is largely made by Norihito Sumitomo. Other works are the property of their respective owners.

What I offer is both AC3 # 2.0 320 kbps (higher bitrate than usual stereo), and FLAC lossless for those who want it. For those who aren't familiar with audio codecs, AC3 is probably your best bet if you want to play these on every platform possible. FLAC provides better audio quality arguably, but the difference to most is minimal, and FLAC isn't widely supported and is quite large in file size.

These episodes aren't considered a final product, more like a beta. Feedback is appreciated.

I'll definitely use that when I get to the buu saga, for 1-98 I'm using the preview Cha-La used in Super

Looks like Mega decided to lower its minimum free space to 15 gb, so I won't be able to host all of it there.

Any suggestions for alternatives that does higher amounts of space?

EDIT: I discovered Filesharing does unlimited but it's only one file per link. What I'm going to do is upload and then put the links on a google drive document, which then I'll share here. It's extremely tedious but unfortunately it's the best I can do for now unless someone has an alternative that has higher free space.

In order to get around the ridiculous new limit by MEGA I might start doing drone referals to increase my storage limit, that way I'll be able to host the files in a much more manageable way

Basically creating emails then using the "friend invite" via MEGA to get 10 extra GB of space, but it takes aw hile for it to come it. Once you get the space it's yours for a year. Once you fill up the space and the year is up you'll still ahve the files up there.

As of now it hasn't taken effect yet so I'm forced to stick with filehosting

I also could use the drone accounts to host the sagas separately, it would just be a pain to manage each of them separately.

I think using drone accounts would be a much better idea but also a bigger pain in the ass

Honestly, it's about as much as using the fileshare so I'm going with the drone idea. Screw MEGA, but they're still the best option

Saiyan Saga is done, honestly I'm really really liking the Sumitomo music now, even moreso than Faulconer for some of the tracks. It's like Yamamoto except it isn't super repetitive and has emotional tone to more of its tracks (most of yamamoto's action tracks IMO were bland, emotionless, and spammed to no end to the point where they became annoying)

Gonna be a good solid while before the Namek Saga will be done, I'm going to Europe in a couple weeks and won't be back till August so this will be it for now. In the meantime, please leave as much feedback as you want and enjoy what's available. And remember, if you got more non-db sumitomo tracks, feel free to send them my way cause I definitely can put them to use :D

Openload is a good option. Sumitomo's music in my opinion is junk but at least his Super score is a bit better than his early works.

BTW, you're going to every country in Europe?

I decided from here on out I'll upload episode by episode since hte pace is so slow, but expect occasionally episodes to be replaced. I'm uploading episode 19 of the Namek Saga now
