Wow, five years for Vegeta? I wonder if that'll have an adverse affect on him?

Man, I can't wait for the next volume. Did Toyble ever say when it would come?

Vegeta does seem older after those five years, eh? Humanoid Porunga looks awesome, I would love to see a humanoid Ultimate Shen Long too. I can't wait for volume 5. I expect Goku's return in volume 6, and the finale with Xicor in volume 7.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

The zip file is 20 MB. It's not a large file.

sorry but it's unbelievable, even, 4 years training alone!? any person would turn crazy with something like that, alone 4 years in a white background, that's very hard

Vegeta's probably not all there to begin with.

Nice read.
This time training room by dr. Brief might not be as taxing as the rosat, maybe it simulates some social interaction or Vegeta gets injected with endorphines every day to keep him "happy".

Too bad this manga doesn't have a regular releasing schedule like DBM, the story is really picking up.

And that bit about kame sennin dieing is still the most beautiful piece of dragonball fan manga I've ever come across. So Toyble is definitely doing some stuff right! Although I still completely loathe the concept of xicor as a villain. Such a simplistic fanboy concept.

I'm enjoying the story so far (I liked this chapter for the non-action scenes) but it started out pretty bad for me. Gohan and Vegeta just pulling out SS4 out of nowhere was just bad, and Xicor is way too strong. Apart from that, it's pretty good.

Vegeta's Super Saiyan 4 isn't exactly out of nowhere when you consider that he used it in the series. I don't think it was ever explicitly stated he couldn't use it without Bruits Waves, either.

Yes it was. After his transformation wore off, Vegeta was yelling at Bluma to fix her machine so that he could do it again. Goku was surprised that Vegeta couldn't do it on his own, which ticked the prince off. Plus, he didn't keep his tail afterward.

Isn't it possible that he learned how to transform without the machine at some point after?

Possible I suppose, but not the way Toyble handles it IMO.

Super Saiyan 4 is a hybrid form which and draws from the Oozaru, which requires a tail to transform into. I would assume the only reason Vegeta can't go SS4 again in GT is because unlike Goku, he doesn't keep his tail after his first transformation (which doesn't exactly make sense to me). Since Vegeta still doesn't have a tail in Toyble's story until after he uses SS4, it seems like a pretty big plothole to me.

Sure, they could have explained that Vegeta trained to use the form without a tail (which makes no sense) or have his tail regrown permanently by one of Bulma's inventions (and done the same with Gohan) but there is no explanation and the whole thing is glossed over as "WHOAAA, They're Super Saiyan 4s! EXTREEEEEEME!"

At least that's how it feels.

I'm confused, I don't remember correctly. Goku always had a tail but it had to be pulled out? Is that the same case for Vegeta?

Goku's tail started growing back because he was turned back into a kid.

It wasn't because of this. Ru Kaioshin forcibly drew it out of his body.

They did that to speed it up. It had started growing back, which is why they noticed it and thought of drawing it out.

No, the Elder Kaioshin planned on having it grow back before it ever actually started to on its own. It wasn't until Goku started the grinding exercise that his ass started to itch from the growing tail-nub-thing, and then they sped up the process by using the pliers.

...why did the grinding exercises cause his tail to start growing back in the first place?
