Blah, yeah, that's right. Stupid accent playing tricks on me again. Never mind the "son" stuff.

But it's not pronounced "Sown" either.

Guys, this is easy. Just choose “Japanese” from the Language drop-down on this page and paste “そん ごくう” into the text box to have it read aloud to you.

Last time I checked, Shone and On rhyme.

Though in America Shone rhymes with Own, right? I'm not sure...

Pronunctiations differ, btw. "on" and "shone" are not pronounced the same in SC, for example.

Or if they lived in America, then they'd get it wrong, of course, it's not really a commonly spoken word, in fact I hear "Shined" more than I hear Shone.

I used to pronounce things a slight American way because of TV, one time I said "LEE-sure" instead of Leisure and my teacher started talking with an American accent because of it. :lol:

And because of being exposed to DBZ for the first time, a lot of people in school started using Zee instead of the proper Zed.

None of that is "Wrong", it's just a different regional dialect than you.

And that actually caused something Funny. Here in America, it's "Zee", and when we first got wind of DBZ Stuff before the Boo arc hit the states, I knew people who read that it was the "Zed Sword", and when FUNi called it the "Z (Zee) Sword" they bitched.

I can't stand hearing "Dragon Ball Zee", though when I talked about it in college people would laugh and say "Surely you mean Dragon Ball ZEEEEEEE!" "Yeah, it's Dragon Ball ZEEEEE, haven't you even watched it on TV?"

Can't blame them, DRAGON BAWL ZEEEEEEE was said so much during the show in English.

Though, I used to... In German class I said Zee, and the Teacher acted amazed and was like "Wow, were you taught in an American school?!" She was Australian, and I have no idea how they pronounce it, could be Zed, could be Zee, could be Zobadonk, or not.
