Would you buy it? Also only having the English soundtracks. but having actual dragon box quality still and all the extras?

Not a chance. I'd stick with the Season Sets. Seasons 4 and onwards look good enough to me, and I might look into getting something else to make up for 1-3's questionable video quality.

Yeah, I would. I don't mind the Dub, I also love the Japanese version too. So either way it wouldn't bother me. But, that would never happen at Otakon they said "Hardcore Fans" which in this case probably meant the fans of the Japanese version.

Absolutely not, as that would defeat the entire point of the release.

I wanna buy The Ocean Group's dub on DVD! D: But if Funimation actually released a dub-only Dragon Box Z, I'd only buy it if it was properly re-dubbed. I'd actually prefer a proper re-dub of the series over the original Dragon Box Z.

I'd probably do it and do what I did with Z. I had 2 DVD players in my living room (long story behind that), so I put in the Season Sets in one DVD player with surround sound and turned that on. At the same time I put in a Full Screen DVD into the other DVD player. I'd sync them up to play at the same time and make it so that the surround sound played the English voice track with original Japanese music, while having the TV show the Full Screen version. I know, kinda pointless in some peoples' eyes, but hey, it worked. So if they had a dub only version of the Dragon Boxes, that's what I would do with having a Season Set DVD playing through surround sound for the original Japanese audio while having the Dragon Box playing on the TV.

But the Dragon Box will probably be FUNimation's true perfect release of the series, so we don't have to worry about that. The only quarrel I have is that they might scrap the original dub with the music and that kind of sticks it to the dub fans. But oh well, who can complain? This isn't really for the dub fans. Actually on the other hand, who's to say that the dub fans don't deserve a perfect release of the series as well? Definitely the fans of the original Japanese version had been (as I like to say) dicked all these years, but we can't say that the dub fans weren't as well. Just not as much.

Can we please not start this again? :|

The logical guy in me wants to say "hell no," because, really, I wouldn't enjoy that at all.

But at the same time, I would almost want to reward FUNi for being so hilarious and ironic.

... But, yeah. Hell no.

Yeah, let's not turn this into another 'debate.' The thread is asking a question, let's try to keep things more or less focused on just giving an answer.

Also, I hadn't thought of that. If it was a NEW, well-done dub, on-par with FUNi's recent dubs of series like One Piece, with an accurate script, decent-to-good voice directing/acting and the original music and all that?

Hmmm... it'd be tempting. I think I probably would buy it. But I'd still keep my Season Sets for the Japanese track. Can't do without it.

I enjoy the dub. Heck, I watch it more often than the original for the sake of convenience. No way in hell would I support such a stupid release, though.

I'd expect a Japanese audio only release too, and would only get that. :D
