Wow, I'm glad a lot of subbers were willing to give out some compliments,
I think the original version deserves a little more credit here though. Seeings how the majority of the posters here are fans of the original, I don't see a problem with them sharing why they enjoy their own version as well.

One big thing I prefer about the japanese version is the serious tone that is sometimes lacking in the dub. Although I have always enjoyed the dub, there are times that inappropriately goofy music gets played when the scene demands a more subtle and serious atmosphere. The Japanese version often handles this much better by either using silence or darker toned music. And while I also said Ocean Krillin was my favorite VA for the character, I always felt that Japanese Krillin was excellent. Even though I can't understand Japanese, they were still was able to characterize Krillin's emotions perfectly.
I like the orchestral soundtrack to Japanese Dragonball, with a few exceptions. I've always believed that a combination of the two scores would have been amazing.

As an Original/Ocean version fangirl, I've still got to admit something-

The music FUNi used for Son's original SSJ transformation is badass. Seriously, if I just ignore the sounds coming out of his mouth and listen to the music I freaking love it. I'm... actually a little concerned about what the music will be like in the Japanese when I get there... I mean the VA work will be better, but how can the music be when that little tune so defined the awesome of the moment the first time through?

And as for Kai, well, it's reinvigorating interest in the community, spurring more fanart, merchandise, and doujinshi that we haven't seen for ages. Accent on the doujinshi- I'm thrilled to see books dated past 94 showing up and can't wait to see what else comes out.

I too love Krillian's Japanese voice. I also like Nozawa's voices for kid Gohan and Goku. She really brings out their child like attitudes and too me those voices are where she really shines. The music is great, and even if the lyrics make no sense, Head-Cha-la is my favorite song out of the whole Dragonball series.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

Something sucking on the other end of the spectrum doesn't mean the original example doesn't still suck horribly.

Although yes in Kai those "KKKKKKKKK" sounds are getting absolutely ridiculous.

I always liked those "KKKKKK" sounds. :(

There are "KKKKKKKK" sounds in Kai? I haven't noticed. I think they are worse in Z. Nothing's happening; the only thing to focus on is the noise.

Are you kidding? Kaioken Goku Vs. Vegeta during the beam struggle. The "KKKKKK" sounds from Z are exaggerated 10 fold in Kai in most every instance.

(Then again it could be the clearer audio quality and the fact that big charge up scenes are closer together giving me this impression.)

I have to commend the dub for reaching 'So bad it's good' territory every once in a while, like with the quote in Neptune's sig. Work of genius right there.

Oh man I love this quote so much.
A. How do you prepare pancakes that are anything but very flat?
B. I love how Vegeta just really really wanted to make sure Goku got it.
He wasn't taking any chances on Goku not fully comprehending his witty one liner.

OH! Here's a good one. That movie with Mr. Satan defeating Cell. WAY more hilarious in the dub.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

OBJECTION! Clearly, our avatars mean we must disagree...

Sorry, couldn't help myself, though in total fairness, who cares if it was brought up before, if its something YOU like about the dub, isn't that the point of the thread?
