So, I was randomly googling things and something compelled me to google "Vegeta" and the third website that came up was in fact: http://www.vegeta.com.au. That's right, the Saiyan prince has his own website.


Yes, I know people have posted the "Vegeta" spice before (and sometimes even with Vegeta himself photoshopped on it), but no one has posted the website and I thought it would be a fun thing to share with you guys. I wonder though how the people who make this product managed to use the word "Vegeta" as it's name and still avoid lawsuits from FUNimation.

The company name "Vegeta" is a trademark, and the name was created in Croatia in 1959. Dragonball started in 1984, and came thus after the name "Vegeta" was a trade mark. Thus, in theory, the company "Vegeta" could sue Toriyama for using their company name for a character.

But I wonder how it would work since you can romanize Vegeta in different ways (Bejita, Vegeta, Begeta ect.). Or am I totally wrong?

I think FUNimation would be the ones to get sued, because they specifically trademarked the "Vegeta" romanization. Toei/Toriyama would probably be okay, since they've only trademarked "ベジータ" (Bejiita).
