Dragon Box Z Vol. 4 Discussion

Post by The Time Traveller » Fri Sep 10, 2010 9:42 am

Ordered yesteday, arrived today, Dragon Box Z Vol. 4!

First, some pics from my brother's DSi.
Looks pretty cool with the others, Goku's just looking a bit fat is all...

The eye-catches are looking pretty bright too, and blue.

I couldn't get a picture of the disc arts, I'll try later, unless someone else does it.

19. Vegeta
20. 17 and 18
21. Imperfect Cell
22. 16
23. Piccolo
24. Super Saiyan Vegeta

I mentioned this on the other thread, but I can't find the textless opening anywhere, it was probably a mistake.

That Gohan picture in the booklet...

But this won't truly be a Dragon box thread until I come in with my wholly unnecessary, obnoxious amount of screencaps
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Did the Dragon Box come with any Dragon Ball ads this time?

Just for the GT Boxset, Kai Part 2 and Z Box 4... I haven't seen any for Dragon Box Z 5 on the discs either.

EDIT: Ooooh, you mean on the actual discs? Only GT.

At what point is Gohan going to show up on the spine art? I thought for sure we'd have atleast seen his arm by now. Sucks that I have to wait until the 21st to pick mine up.

I was more so wondering if there was an ad for the next Dragon Box on the flyer. Thanks.

It's not a Dragon Box, unfortunately. It's just a re-boxing of the first two season sets.

If you mean an American release for the GT Dragonbox there isnt one out, and probably wont be for a while now.

I think he means this GT set:

That's the only logical explanation as for what trailer was there.
Next quest: Start collecting Dragon Ball Super Blu-Rays whenever season sets get released. Also the Super Manga!

As I said before I'm waiting for this to go onsale for under $30 at best buy or amazon. I can hold out, because this part of the series just seems to drag on with no real advancement (yes even more so then the Frezza saga.) This wasn't like the other box sets which I felt I had to get immediately, especially vol.3.

Nope, the only extras are the trailers that play before the DVD menu appears.

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

This box's resident Super Saiyan really dropped the ball. Either a bad hair day, or he moved to fast for the camera to adapt to his hair's new pose.... xD

Disc 19: Vegeta looks awesome.

Disc 20: Nice picture of #17 & #18

Disc 21: Good picture of 1st Form Cell.

Disc 22: What the heck is up with 16's face?

Disc 23: Its alright I guess.

Disc 24: It doesn't look great at first but the more I look at it the more I like the picture on the disc.

Overall, not my favorite disc images so far but they are still nice. Thanks for posting these up.

Why does that SSj Vegeta look like a bad tracing of a SSj Gokû image I've seen before?

They used almost all of the original DBox disc art for these ones. The only ones that are different are Base Vegeta and Androids 17 & 18.

Pffffft!

When did we start hiring Beckett DBZ Collector to do the disc art? :D

Seriously, aside from the first two, those are really, really hilariously bad.
