Different Foods in Dragonball

Post by Budogenkai » Fri Apr 29, 2011 10:31 pm

There are a lot of foods in the DB universe, so this thread is dedicated to all the different types of foods and references to them within the series. Drinks are included too I guess, so first off:

Goku about to choose beer.

Vegeta eating an Arlian (?)

Also, I hope this thread hasn't been done before. I don't believe it has..

Just search Goku Eating on Google and you'll find tons of stuff.

When I read "Different Foods in Dragonball" .. I kinda expected a bit more than picture-posts in the context of "lol characters eating." :|

I would be totally interested in someone picking out some of the stuff they do eat and discern what actual, real-world foods it could actually be shown or may be based on. In case anyone ever wanted to try out the cuisine of Dragonball themselves, ya know? Something like that.

It seemed like there'd be enough times they eat various foods that that would be worth-while of actually collecting together.
Can't you see? He's the man. Let me hear you applaud. He's more than a man! He's a shiny golden god!

Okonomiyaki. Vegeta sings a song about making it as he makes it. One day I'd like to try it.

It's tasty. I had some in a Kyoto restaurant.

On topic... damn you, Budogenkai. I was planning on doing a "Food in the Dragon World" topic next week! Ah, well. I'll be watching the NFL Draft tomorrow, and I might be busy on Sunday. Next week I'll try to get to the computer and get some screencaps ready for this topic.

I remember in the Funimation Dub, Kaio-Sama makes a joke referencing dim-sum. He's talking about how he's going to have some food I don't remember "and dim-sum dim-sum."

I remember him making a similar joke. "Ya lose some and you dim-sum!"

In the Bardock special the fat guy on Bardock's crew is eating some kind of fruit, we see Vegeta eating the same fruit at the end of the special...I like to call it "Saiyan Fruit".

Moral of the story: Kaio-Sama eats dim-sum, therefore another food to add to our list of dragon ball foods.

Oh, you think the Grand Tour is your ally, you merely stepped into the Grand Tour. I was born in it, moulded by it. I didn’t see the Super until I was already a man; by then, it was nothing to me but blinding!

Off the top of my head, I remembered the "tailsteak", and...

The giant fish that seems to be eaten multiple times as a running gag.
