Dragon Ball movie four pack: Was it re-dubbed?

Post by Anonymous Friend » Thu Jun 09, 2011 11:52 am

I have the previous three pack and recently saw the four pack with the first movie included. I've also seen the first movie by itself. So, have the other movies been re-dubbed?

Seems like this set was made for the people who missed out on the 3-pack set. The people who got the 3-pack set, got the Movie 1 single. Isn't this 4-pack "remastered," though?

I think you mean Movie 2 single. The Movie 1 single wasn't released till this 4-pack set.

Nope. It was actually released like two months beforehand at a budget price.

Movies 3 and 4 definitely look better with the remastering, so that could be an incentive. Something went wrong with Movie 2 though. The contrast is so high that it accentuates the grain on places like the opening theme, and I swear the framerate is somehow jerkier than it should be.

In Movie 2 ONLY the opening looks bad, the rest of it looks normal.

Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

One thing that really pisses me off about those sets: I'm not sure if FUNimation advertises them as uncut, but they're not since they put their own title ONTO the video. Wouldn't be a problem if they had alternate angles.

I swear to god it looks jerkier than it should, which is a weird problem. Then again, I've never seen anyone back me up on this. Am I just imagining it?

No. You're not. Movie 2's Opening looked and sounded worse than my old Lupin III Green Jacket Series Fansubs.

I was actually talking about the movie as a whole.
