Toei really SHOULD give their masters a good color correction. How the DVD masters passed QC in 2003, I'll never know.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.
Vic Mignogna: Good actor & singer, but a MAJOR douchebag & idiot.

You guys blow this way to much up. Dragon box looks not half as good as said here. It just looks old af thats it. Most people would prefer the new blurays by far. Imagine if people back then could have watched it that clean way.... they would have. Grain is just distortion from the old tech back then. The originals must be so grainy you would not believe it when you see it. Look level sets and its much more than that its annoying. Why would people want the old dusty look. Nostalgia? Is the only reason i can think of.

The dragon box look awful sometimes jesus christ. Just watched yesterday the boo saga where dende flew with satan and hes green face literally was so bright it glow. Also this ghosty look there is no dark its like when the hdmi black level is set wrong. Which is terrible. Its looks most of the time just not good on an 4k Oled Tv. I dont get why some people here would want that awful quality if its not for nostalgia. For that its great. But the new blurays look miles better not always but more often then not. And it looks not as on youtube or the pictures here. See it first hand. Its not bright as lot of folks said. Nor does anyone had sunburn(kinda funny in the dragon box sunburned skin is on the menu daily?!) but here its a problem? Besides of bulmas hair the colors are much closer to the original than on the box. Gokus gi is light orange. Not red or dark orange.

The sky in the battle between Goku and Vegeta should not be that blue.

You'll have to white balance every episode individually yeah, but I've found that after a white balance you can apply the remaining color correction at the same settings across every episode and get a consistent look.

Well, how do you know yours is accurate? Unless someone actually crazy enough to buy and scan the cels, given that they know how to scan them properly, I have doubt on the accuracy on all the scans found online.

The picture Trachta based it off of was from that one blurb Toei put out about Kai...which itself wasn't even accurate to begin with. Toei passed it off as what Kai would look like.

Lightningexpose's colors are consistent with all of the other scans we've seen on the internet and in magazines/booklets.

Where does that reference color chart come from? Judging from the black and white patches, it's obviously wrong.

This chart is fan-made and he sampled the colours for the chart from photographs of animation cels he found online...so yeah it's not that accurate.

There are alternative charts out here, also fan-made, but more reliable because those fans sampled from actual colour palette cards they physically own that were used by animation studios for these colour codes.

Do you have a link to any similar ones, or know what direction to go in to find one?

That one there is more accurate since it's from some guy who owns the physical colour cards that he sampled off of. It's not complete, however.

While Toei character sheets do use same codes as what's on there, according to Kei17 Toei still used their own actual colour palette. So even this probably isn't all that accurate for DBZ. But from my own use of it with DBZ character sheets, it has been an interesting guide of sorts. For instance, not that it really needed any proving, but to definitively conclude Vegeta's hair isn't supposed to be black, we were able to use this
