If anyone is interested here is the link to download the Lut
http://www.mediafire.com/file/23prcxqwf ... .CUBE/file

you can open it in some software like Filmora, After Effects, Sony Vegas, Photoshop, and I think also in Gimp and AviSynth

do you know that "color correction" mean that it require a proper white balance? so you mean that

"this"

Image
is properly white balance?
(and i don't even talk about others hue very far than how they should look)

i am a little hard but please read all that have been written since the beginning and understand that gving a "lut" like if you managed to do something "clean" is not very "decent"

I found it impossible to make white look as white as I would have liked, because that make other colors got brighter or less saturated,

look for example bulma's skin tone in kai

In db if I change the white this also affect the skin

so I do not know, this is the image of Goku with brighter white

Image

and for other colors, how do you think they should look? I choose Kai as reference because is the closest to the cel's colors, and the closest to how the show should look.

White are not supposed to be light grey, it's celluloid animation but i mean that yours is red it's far than being balanced
about hue i'll have to say that i guess more than i can say i know how it should look but even kai hue aren't perfect,

here two example
mine are not perfect and maybe don't have the right hue either BUT it's white balanced so i wanted to advice you before spreading lut files and say "final result" like if you have nice result if white aren't properly balanced then it's not a color correction
you NEED to know that dbox can't be cc by a simple lut, you need to color correct each part of the episodes including opening and ending cause white balance need to be adjusted scene by scene or in the best case part by part so you can't just throw a settings like if it will work with everything

Its true that with what you're doing, your skintones and shadows in general come out very reddish. I'd do something like this tho not perfect

Well there is more things to do that just white balance, in you attempt white can look good but in my eyes everyting else look to blue, why don't you just change the white color individually?

another attempt

because dragon box was never meant to be reddish magenta or any "hot" colors, yours have a strong red tint and it also affect the white, your colors are very faded, you managed to do worst than untouch dbox, sky is blue like you'll see in every production cels you'll see (maybe except goku vs vegeta that have intended green in blue color)
your "attempt" i'll be hard but it sucks so please stop sharing lut before having a true nice result, each time you share it it's like you are proud to have destroy more and more the footage

in color correction first you need to WB all the footage and part by part and then you alter hue not the opposite AND white balance is far than enough with DBOX and yours is really really really BAD

if you want to reach kai enlighten colors, you should more do something like that

that's the closest example i can show of what you can do with dbox to do more enlighten colors

WB is not enough for DBOX, some colors look extremely dark, the blue for example, and everything looks green

Image

you may not like it but the white balance is good in this video, there is no green tint and colors look much more brighter

Eh, its a typical ai upscale, nothing to praise. I'll say it again that what you call a cel scan, is infact a 35mm shot of the scene. So dont take the colours for granted.

@Hugo2003DBZ I think it should look more like this

https://imgsli.com/MjgyNTA

Hello all of you wonderful people.

I originally thought of giving a giant list of comparisons D-Box vs my CC. But then I thought why not give you my best.

D-Box https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UngWe2RjAcc

my CC https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BZm-59jyxA

It's not perfect but I love the way it looks. So a couple of months ago I learned how to CC Dragon Ball Z :) I uploaded a tutorial on how to do it. But there are many more techniques I have learned since then. People often say that doing a CC on DBZ is hard, but it isn't that hard I literally learn how to do that in a week. I know many of you do the cc in Avisynth or some of your even crazy enough to write your own code. But I went something nice and simple since I already had it installed I used the popular tool for colour correction and colour grading and that's Premiere Pro.

This is how I do my CC
First I choose the picture or clip that I want to CC (if it's a clip I'll break it down into sequences)

Step 1 fix the whites and blacks (apply a proper exposure to the picture) this will get rid of any greyish tints in the picture and this will make the whites white and the blacks black as it should be.

Step 2 a white balance is applied. To balance out all three colours in the colour white. red, green, blue “RGB” this gets rid of any unnecessary tinted colours in the picture.

Step 3 I apply a hue shift this will fix things like the green skies Goku's GI etc...

Here's some examples from my cc

https://imgsli.com/MjgyNTk

https://imgsli.com/MjgyNjA

So why am I telling you all of this. it's because I wanted to do my own CC for DBZ. Of course it would take me a very long time to do the whole thing and a lot of effort.

Unfortunately or should I say fortunately a group already is doing what I was planning to do and that group is "Seed of Might" viewtopic.php?p=1677902 I already made a post about this, so check it out if you're interested. The next thing that I'm going to learn is, how to fix: dust dirt scratch marks and tape marks and stabilization of the image but someone is probably going to beat me to the Punch again :)
