My first home video was a VHS of Movie 2. That is the reason why it is my favorite DBZ movie - purely for nostalgia.

way back in 2003, right after we got a DVD player. I had a few VHS before that, I specifically recall the Pioneer release of Movie 2 and Saiyans: Arrival from a pack-in my local Toys 'R' Us had with the first Budokai game. I no longer have these because I gave them off to Goodwill when I picked up the steelbooks.
Mine too! Got it right after I got Budokai, still have both of them.

One of the old edited Pioneer DVDs with Vegeta on the cover. I think it covered a few of the fake Namek episodes. Lol

I'm pretty sure I got both Return of Cooler and Bardock: The Father of Goku for Christmas or a birthday way back when.

I have the DVD without the boxes. I remembered seeing the VHS boxes at Suncoast for like $100 and thinking that I'd never get them. Well, they're cheap enough now :D

Bardock Special, Portuguese dub-only DVD with the worst looking footage imaginable. And my first DVD to include the Japanese version was the seventh DBZ set from Spain.

It can, and it is. I don't have any shots from the Bardock DVD around right now, but have a few from the Trunks DVD.

My first VHS tape was Majin Buu - Tactics and my first DVD was Movie 8 back in 2003.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

My first DragonBall Z DVD was the DragonBall Z Rock the Dragon Collector's Edition (Saiyan and Namek Sagas). Ever since then, I bought the DragonBall Z Remastered Seasons 2 (Captain Ginyu Saga) and 3 (Frieza Saga). Right now, I am ordering DragonBall Z Bardock: The Father of Goku/History of Trunks double feature for my DragonBall DVD collection. Next I will plan on getting DragonBall Z Movie Pack Collection (1,2, and 3), DragonBall Z Remastered Seasons 4-9 (Garlic Jr. Saga through the Kid Buu Saga), DragonBall Remastered Seasons 1-5 (Emperor Pilaf Saga through the Piccolo Jr. Saga), DragonBall Movie Pack Collection (Curse of the Red Rubies (I saw it from DBZ.TV) through Path to Power), and the DragonBall GT The Complete Series (The Lost Episodes Saga through The Shadow Dragon Saga+The Hero's Legacy). *Note: I haven't collect any DragonBall DVDs in the past during my childhood, because I was focus on too much on my other hobby. Although, I did grew up watching DragonBall Z on TV, back when I was a kid from the late 1990s and early 2000s. And of course I played the DBZ games as well (My young brother bought DragonBall Z Budokai for the PlayStation 2 in late 2002, which indeed was our very first DragonBall Z game during the early 2000s).
I know many of the DragonBall fans had been collecting the DragonBall DVDs for years, but I haven't got the chance to collect the DragonBall DVDs during my childhood days.

Dragon Ball Kai part 1. I had just been introduced to the wonderful world of anime on DVD and I was waiting for a long time for Funi to release the series on DVD. The better dub and less filler attracted me. Then I found out that the Dragon Boxes were going out of print once I bought like Part 4 or 5 if I remember correctly, and being but a high school student with no job, Box 2 quickly escaped my price range. Oh, those were the days... the days of FOOLISHNESS!

I originally had the VHS of the first Broly movie back in 2004 but years later I discovered the Pioneer release of the first three movies with Ocean dub (brand new sealed no less) and so those would be my first DVDs.

I think it was "Majin Buu: Emergence" back in 2002. I got it at the Suncoast that used to be at the Columbia Mall in Maryland. Some of these post make me feel old for saying the DBZ boxes and Season Sets was their first DVD's.
