I personally prefer Z Kai over Z and even I want this DVD!

So all of 5 people would buy this? I'm sure FUNimation would be raking in the green.

First of all, that's just the people on this forum (Not to mention more than the five of us on this forum alone would buy this), not considering all the fans of the dub. You can argue what you want, but I think these would sell like hotcakes. For example, the New Video Group release of Digimon did extremely well and there wasn't any promotion for it whatsoever.

IMO, would've been better "Kai over Z" than "Z Kai over Z" since it could be a bit confusing.

You don't like the Ocean Dub and that's all right but you don't have to be a downer, this really has nothing to do with you to be honest.

Only five here have commented, but that's not counting the rest throughout the internet who've been waiting for years.

I like the Ocean Dub of the first 3 movies. The rest of the Ocean Dub is awful.

Hmm...if this really is finally legit, and it's going to be just as that description says, I'm conflicted. On the one hand, I have no need for this - I have no nostalgia for the Ocean dub (we were already in the FUNi in-house cast era by the time I really got into DBZ), at least for the episodes. But if there was a set of just the Ocean movies, THAT I could see myself nabbing maybe, as I do have some nostalgia for those (particularly movie 2).

Made my day, as soon as Amazon carry this it's mine :)
Next to get; Leged of Saiyan figures and Freeza's force

If anyone sees
Any of the Legend of Saiyan line going cheapish
Or any other Banpresto DBZ figure :)

If anyone has a cooler steelbook dvd that wants to sell it (prefer new but used is fine) when/if the dragon box movies comes out contact me :)

Haha, can't wait. Hopefully if this does well they'll look into releasing more Ocean stuff and maybe even Ocean Kai.

Okay. This is tempting. I'll wait to get a bit more info... but it looks like I'll probably be buying another release of the series!

I'll be picking this up. I have all the original discs. As long as they fix some of the damage to the image I'm all for it. If they just give us exactly what's on the old discs, I wont be buying it. I already have plenty of this:

I demand they rename this the "Keep Your Eye On The Birdy Set".

Now in glorious VHS Transfer Definition!

Cool. Well, that explains why it was taken down from all those sites. It makes more sense releasing it all in one package, that way they don't have to worry about what to do after the Namek arc, they can just go on and release the Dragon Ball Dragon Boxes sooner and it will cause less confusion now among consumers and fans now that it's a collector's edition. Now we just have to wait for Amazon to list it.

Clever, but come on man, there are many of us who enjoy these episodes for more than nostalgic value.

Really? Nostalgic value is the only reason I could even understand enjoying them.

Aside from the 3 movie dubs, those are actually pretty good. I wonder, though, if they'll have Movie 3 with both the Kikuchi and TV Levy soundtracks.

I like many of the voices and performances. You may not understand it, but I and others find it enjoyable, so yes, really. Even if it is nostalgic value that people get from it, so what?

Well....fuck (looks at wallet and a small fly buzzes out).

They're actually naming it Rock the Dragon Edition? Funimation really are marketing kings. And this time, it's all in one set so there'll be no opportunity to cancel it after it's out.

But damn, there's a lot here:
• Contains Eps #1-53 + 3 Movies (Dead Zone, the Worlds Strongest, and Tree of Might) on 9 DVD's.
• Each Collector's Edition comes in a hardbound, full color 48 page book; which showcases the characters, history, and tropes that helped elevate Dragon Ball Z to the pop culture phenomenon it is today
• Never before released in a DVD collection - this is deep in the Funimation vault!
• This release includes the original opening theme song "Rock The Dragon"
• The original Canadian voice cast can only be found on this release
53 Episodes and 3 Movies- sounds pretty damn good to me. I remember when 3 episodes or one movie would set you back $30.

"Rock the Dragon Edition" gives a better idea of what the product is. That said, I'm not a fan of "[insert line of dialog from movie] Edition"

Perhaps "Cargo Robot Edition" would have worked. Or "Just Wait Until That Arm Grows Back Edition". Oooh, how about "Frothy Mugs Of Water Edition"?
