Volume 1 - http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Full- ... ball+manga ($9.99)
Volume 2 - http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Full- ... ball+manga ($12.64)
I'm tempted to pre-order both but skipping the original Dragon Ball does lose some of its value, I'll have to think about it.

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Question though. Why are these so cheap? Shouldn't something that's in color be more expensive than something that's in Black and White?

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussi
It's cheap, high quality and in colour so I've decided to pre-order it.
Although I'm not sure if I'll have time to read the manga or space for it considering most of it is occupied by games and stuff.

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussi
It's like any other release: It'll only make it that far if sales justify it. So remember while you're waiting for however many years it takes...it might not make it that far if everyone sits on the fence.PhoenixEX wrote:I think i'll wait until it's confirmed that the Android Saga will be released physically, then I will start purchasing these.
As for sound effects, I doubt they'll bother. It's far more effort to edit something in Color than in Black and White. It's easier to make it look bad trying to change something. They might not bother in this case.
As for the early Dragon Ball material, the run is set up for doing so, if they name all the parts after Arcs/etc. They can go back after a successful run of Z, and do the original if it proves popular enough.
Amazon does good preorder deals if something is popular enough. The full price for these books are $20.

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussi
Keep in mind that the Mangapolo chapters on Youtube are probably exactly what you're going to get.
So it remains to be checked, but that would imply you likely already know about the fonts, about the censorship (only Mr. Popo's lips so far) and about the sound effects being left in Japanese without any translation.
But we'll see, they have quite some time until the beginning of next year to fix things for the release, so we'll have to get confirmation, but I do suspect that what you see on Mangapolo is exactly what you'll get.

Re: VIZ's Release of the Full Colour Comics
But that has no bearing on the Full Color Comics, since the entire colorized series is already available digitally in Japan, and even the print edition has been released up to the end of the Freeza arc.B wrote:Are you talking about the actual book, or the digital version in the American Weekly Shonen Jump? Because the whole idea of of Viz's WSJ is to release series simultaneous with Japan, so there's no time to actually do any sort of editing before they put it up. With a physical release that doesn't officially come out until February 2014, that may be exactly why it would take that long; converting all the Japanese SFX into English words where appropriate. The Time Traveller wrote:They haven't actually, the sound effects are left in but with a little subtitle under them.B wrote:They're not gonna do redo their translation, but for the life of me I hope they don't see the need to change the sound effects.

SaiyaJedi, Why is this release so cheap? I asked it a bit ago but Shouldn't something in color be more expensive than something in Black and White? I don't buy Manga too much so I'm just asking.

Well.....I pre-ordered it. I really shouldn't have because it cut into my Battle of Gods Blu-ray LE, But! I have been waiting forever to get the full manga series in full color so I'm happy. I hope this turns out to be an awesome release!

I wish America would stop pretending the first 16 volumes/153 episodes don't exist
Pre-ordered the first 3 volumes of this, been waiting for it to be in print. Do hope that the first 16 volumes are eventually released!

In this case, the Saiyan and Freeza arcs are the only ones available in print in Japan, as well.Undercooked Sausage wrote:I wish America would stop pretending the first 16 volumes/153 episodes don't exist

But, once again, the Viz release will be significantly taller. A jump-sized graphic novel is a decent selling point to add on top of full color.qjz123 wrote:Check out this video he's showing the Japanese print edition it's pretty much what viz's release will look like.samuraix123 wrote: Dang....I don't know what I should do! haha Has anybody got in pictures that would tell me about how this would look?
We may yet get Dragon Ball's early material in Full Color, but the Z portion has to do great for that to happen (If Z wasn't up to snuff in sales, they rprobably wouldn't do it, but I think it can be done).

I'd pre-order this on amazon, but I already pre-ordered it at my local comic shop. It doesn't matter to me though, since with two-day shipping + tax, it's like $25, so I don't mind waiting an extra day.

My best friend just ordered this as well! God I can't wait for the freeza saga to get released! That's my favorite little saga-ish.

As SamuraiX123 has said it has indeed increased to $12, it's quite a nice save to have pre-ordered for $9.99.
One thing I wish they'd give their customers as a bonus would be: Digital Copy.
