Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

Wait, what...?
This was something pretty weird for Vegeta say about Goku.
Remember what I was telling you yesterday?
I really don't understand why some people keep being surprised by this. Back when he was using Final Explosion, Vegeta's last thoughts were for Bulma, Trunks and... Kakarot. Seriously guys, Goku IS special for him.
I would like to know if the word he used for "special" can also be interpreted as "precious person". @Chuquita am I right?? Maximum lols to be had if so.
OMG, so much yes to "precious person". X3
Something like his prey in Movie 7.
I can see Vegeta mixing up words or not knowing what to use to describe it and it coming out like that. XD
We don't even get to see how Freeza trained? Fucking ridiculous.
I remember all the defenders of this '4 months of training' nonsense going on about how we don't know how Freeza trained and it will be explained.
But nope we get nothing. not even an idea of what he did and the rest be off screen.

He probably rented DVD with Jillian Michaels and went for it with his crewmates.
I think it is for the best that he wasn't humiliated on-screen.
It's the greatness of Toriyama, that you have to imagine some things and this is my new canon.
Ehh not really, except Kei17 more or less confirmed that Blue Super Saiyan was legit, which I am not mad about as I am curious to see how it looks.

Goku achieved Super Saiyan 2 and 3 off-screen,nobody ever seems to bring that up at all.

That's natural, we were kids back then. We didn't mind. I didn't even mind DBGT and was watching it with joy.
Now we are nitpicking old farts on message boards, discussing anime for kids. Deal with it man.

Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?
Spoiler:

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.

He was training for 7 years, and we even catch a glimpse of his training in the manga and he only got roughly 10 times stronger.
But Freeza trains for 4 months, gets 100s if not 1000s of times stronger but we don't even catch a glimpse of what he did to make such huge gains in such a short amount of time.
Nope it's bullshit, why are you defending such shit writing?

I'm going to echo Low Tone G's sentiment and say that it's time for Toriyama to retire. Let someone else handle Dragonball from now on. Either that or let it rest; there's no need to drag it through the mud like this.
Dude what if Toriyama had a secret account here and is reading what you posted right now! That might hurt his feelings and he might not make another DBZ movie. Do you want that to happen?

I never paid attention to art classes, but if you mix gold with red, does it result in blue?
If you turn natural black hair to its natural opposite, it becomes blond. If you turn unnatural red hair to its unnatural opposite, it becomes blue.
Art concept at its simplest.
