Why did they change Videl's ENG Voice actor in GT?

I have always wondered if there was a reason why Kara Edwards was not Videl in the GT dub? Did they just change it because of the time jump or was there a another reason.

I'm guessing they wanted a voice actor that sounded a little older. I mean, according to the English dub GT takes place 10 years after Z, as supposed to 5. Go figure.

^The English dub itself doesn't say anything regarding how much later GT takes place. I don't know what the advertising and promotional material may have said, though.

Kara Edwards sounds really awkward as Videl in the EOZ Episodes, so they may have decided to go with Susan Huber instead for an older Videl voice. Ironically, she voiced Pan in EOZ.

Three likely explanations

1. They wanted Videl to have a different voice for GT to better match her new design

2. The actress wasn't available

3. They didn't think she was good enough

I like the GT actor much better. She sounds more mature. That's probably why they chose her and I'm glad they did.

Haven't heard her much so far, but I can already say she sounds much better for Videl as an adult than Kara Edwards in my opinion. That being said, Edwards does great as teenage Videl, though, and certainly hope she's reprising her role in The Final Chapters.

i think she will return for The Final Chapters since she returned for Battle of Gods.
And I think she's also been continually voicing Videl in the video games, like Xenoverse.

Wait, she did? Huh. I remember it being Kate Bristol in GT, so I assumed it was her in EOZ too.

I don't know why they had Kara Edwards do that awkward voice for EoZ. It sounded like a forced posh middle aged voice despite Videl being only 27. It would have made much more sense for her just to keep her normal voice. I remember Tiffany Volmer doing something similar for Future Bulma in that she made her sound like an old lady despite her being middle aged.
