It was the first thing I saw. with no input or effort, I saw NSFW stuff
you also have to consider that younger people use this site.

None of the images had nudity and didn't actually show anything more than any kid can't see on the street in marketing and publicity images on billboards. For example: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_GIchwvJ-aNk/S ... lboard.jpg. Not to mention that the images weren't even real women, just drawings.

it doesnt matter if they're drawings or not, the content is still not suitable for everybody.
you don't have to have nudity to not be suitable.
would you want your boss or teacher or whoever to catch you looking at these? thats why I said NSFW.

Then I guess the billboards that people see all the time on the street (like the one I posted) aren't suited for everybody. Also, a dragon ball forum is not suited for work on itself.

i guess not but billboards are NOT the current topic of discussion. What was your point?
how is a DB forum NOT suited for work?

For the love of God, the guy just asked Jacob for a heads-up before linking to what he considers explicit pictures in his thread. That's not unreasonable. Can we move back on topic now? This is a fairly interesting topic that I'd rather not see bogged down in another argument that has nothing to do with the thread. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

My point is that people have no problem with those images in giant billboards on the street, where everyone, including kids, exist and are able to see it, and you stated that we have to take into consideration the kids when linking to images who show no more than those billboards and aren't even real women. I think that what I mean is self-evident.

A DB forum is a purely entertainment forum filled with images from anime and manga which, unless your work is somehow related to that, is obviously completely unrelated to work and if you are browsing it, you are basically not working. While I understand that people and your bosses will judge you much more harshly if they see you browsing sexy images instead of a Dragon Ball forum, we shouldn't pretend that a Dragon Ball is something that someone should be browsing at work or is suited for work.

That being said, I have no problem with you preferring to have a warning to what you consider to be not safe for work images, that's all fine. But arguing that it's for the kids or forgetting that a db forum is also not something that our bosses would like to see us browse instead of working is not as reasonable. But lets get back to the topic, like we were asked to.

I'd like to think so. He's still working on Spiderman last I checked. He's been doing the main title since Peter got his body back from Doc Ock and for the most part I think it's good. I really like his cartoony style, it's fun and whimsical. It doesn't always work for the dark toned storytelling but I think it could work for Dragonball.

in those billboards their ***s arent jutting out. even then we're talking about animated "sexy" women not billboards.

you don't get what I'm saying. whether or not you're SUPPOSED to be on A DB forum in school or work is IRRELEVANT. the point is you don't want your boss/teacher/whoever catching you on those images. DB was a culture phenomenon and plus some people will judge you for looking at ANY cartoon or something else they think is "immature" so does that matter? and would you rather be judged as a "manchild" for liking DB or judged as a loser pervert for looking at unreal "sexy" women?

I'm not saying its for kids, I'm more saying that kids go here and that DB has all ages appeal.

Since I specifically stated that "I understand that people and your bosses will judge you much more harshly if they see you browsing sexy images instead of a Dragon Ball forum" and that I have no problem with your preferring to be warned about it (just more with the rest of what you said), you will find that, actually, I do understand. That doesn't invalidate my points, though. But since I already stated what I wanted to say, I have nothing more to add, so we can get back to on-topic.

(Also, there's plenty of billboards will women showing off their "junk" much more clearly).

One of the best Spider-Man stories ever, and the art just killed it for me.

Aaaaaanyway, I've always been a huge fan of George Perez's art from Avengers Volume 3.

It almost makes you feel the impact yourself. Love it.

Have there been any big American comics artists who have made art of manga characters?

I LOVE George Perez, he's an awesome guy and an amazing artist. However, I can't see his art working for Dragonball. Same with guys like Neil Adams and Ethan Van Sciver; love them all to death but I don't know if they could make Dragonball work. Greg Capullo would be fun though!

To answer your question, I'm not entirely sure. I'd love to see it if there are though. However, on the flip side, Marvel is letting Manga artists do variant covers for some of their books.

I couldn't see it working for an actual manga, but for just concept art or still images? I would love to see him give it a try.

That Marvel thing is really neat, too. I love that Old Man Logan cover. The Doctor Strange one looks a lot like the guy who did Volume 2 of New Avengers.

Now that I think on it, Mark Bagley from Ultimate Spider-Man would be interesting. And while I'm not a big fan of his work, I'm really wanting to see a John Romita, Jr. rendition of Second Form Freeza. Or some other big "blocky" character that would fit his art style.

So just for fun, I went to see if I can find any Dragonball art by any western Artists, and I found this:
Image

It was in a Joe Madureira + Dragonball search. It looks cool and while it's close to his style, I'm not convinced it's him. Does anyone know where it's from?!

Yes, please give a warning before linking NSFW material.

There are all sorts of reasons someone might want that warning, but it really doesn't matter why they want it. We're not an inherently lewd site, so it's not normal to encounter it here without warning.

I assume the discussion is over now anyway, but I thought I'd give some authoritative comments for future reference.

Dragon Ball is a series about folks who resolve conflict through violence rather than peaceful discussion, that's a thousand times worse than some boobies and penis'. This is to say nothing of the tits and dicks in Dragon Ball, too. Or the countless number of users on this forum that swear like the fuckin' dickens.

I might have done so if I had known bare breasts or penis' would appear, but I didn't. That said, if bare tits and dicks are fine in the art you see in museums I don't see why it should be a problem on a forum about a comic where a ten year old boy turns sentient beings into piles of rather detailed body innards. I'm reminded of an episode of The Simpsons, actually...

You should let them judge you for your strength of character rather than the fact you're looking at sexy drawings. If they want to be shallow, immature losers that is on them, not you.

Is this a joke? If your boss catches you 9/10 times you're fired and at the very least creating a very situation/environment. NSFW tags were absolutely necessary.

I haven't seen that Simpsons episode in years and don't remember all the details, but I'm certainly not interested in censoring artwork. I mean, if you want my personal thoughts, nudity and sex don't really bother me. Nothing in Dragon Ball itself offends me. I've vouched for the existence of the "Sexy Fan Art" thread at least once.

But not everyone is me, and I want us to be mindful of other perspectives. Whether it's because of their religion, or because they don't want to deal with potential overreactions from their boss or family. People actively choose to read or watch Dragon Ball at their whim, and they probably know what to expect when they do. They can fast forward or skip pages if they're afraid of getting in trouble at the time, or if those sections simply offend them personally. It's a completely controllable situation, not even accounting for edited releases.

However, one can't control what other people post on the internet. The Kanzenshuu forums are 99% text and SFW images, so there is a reasonable expectation that you won't get in trouble for anything you find here. All I'm asking is to remember that fellow community members live in all kinds of different situations and circumstances (whether or not you agree with or approve of it), so try to give a courtesy warning before posting something that could be considered NSFW.
