Lord Slug Toonami beta Version?

Post by Romans Empire » Sat Jan 02, 2016 12:22 am

So get a load of this! I was digging around an old box of VHS tapes and was re-watching some of my DBZ recordings. I came across Yu-gi-oh, Pokemon, and while binge-watching all of my DBZ episodes I came across the Lord Slug movie and the thing that I noticed was the songs seemed bootlegged than the one I watched on Youtube a few days ago. I looked up the song in the Youtube video and I found out that it is Disturbed by Stupify but in the version on my VHS it doesn't sound the same at all. It has a song that goes like "you know you wanna, you know you wanna!" The weird thing is though on my VHS is that when Lord Slug is transforming into a big version, I can hear the Disturb music in the background for 5 seconds and then it just cuts out and I think this proves its a bootleg because it makes no sense. The Youtube version doesn't stop playing the Disturb music so obviously something is off. Any help is appreciated.

I put some footage to show you want I mean about the music

Well the Toonami versions of TV specials and movies often had alternate music mixes. Sometimes, in place of the insert songs, there would be Faulconer music instead. Do you know if this Toonami version happens to have Faulconer music sprinkled throughout it? I remember a while back that a lot of people were actually looking for this version or its Nicktoons equivalent because of its alternate mix and rarity.

I know what you're talking about, thaman91, but this is something in addition to that. I think he's talking about the use of instrumental Disturbed music vs. the vocals version in one particular scene.

And no, it's not a bootleg version, but an alternate mix featuring different cuts of music.

No, why would it? It's fiction. The strength of the characters is not possible to reach in reality.
I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

Its a different song I heard both. In fact I saw the credits and I didn't see Stupify in the music credits.

So, you're saying that you recorded the movie off of Toonami, and yet you're worried about whether or not it's a bootleg?

I recorded this long ago in mid 2000s I think off of cartoon network toonami. It is strange to me because the one I recorded is different than the one I saw on youtube so it is possible this is a beta.

Just to remind OP, file sharing here is not allowed. I imagine both Clutchins and TheBalishChannel are asking you in private messages to share this recording of the movie with them. These users have caused nothing but grief when it comes to the file sharing of Toonami recordings or certain DBZ episodes and movies. There was even a case where a user had their video tapes destroyed when they were lent to another user just so the recordings could not be shared with others.

So please, do not share the entirety of that movie with other users here. Not only is it not allowed, but the last thing we need is even more drama fro the two users in question.

Please don't accuse me of breaking rules. That is very rude of you. I was just showing an example of the beta version.

Never meant to accuse you of such things, since sharing clips via YouTube is perfectly fine. I'm talking about sharing entire movie and/or recordings. That is not allowed here.

I wasn't planning to and really your post seems to be the most antagonizing out of anybody's and that includes Ballish and Clutchin. You're making more of an effort to make people angry then they are.

If you want to see antagonizing and angry, I'd be more than happy to show you examples of what exactly said users have done when Toonami recordings of DBZ were on the line. As history has proven here, these discussions have proven nothing but trouble to the point where a user had their entire VHS collection destroyed and uploaded to YouTube as proof.

I'm not trying to cause anger, I'm trying to prevent a repeat of events before. I would rather just not see you thrown into another debacle of theirs without at least first knowing what they've done in the past.

Why are you accusing me that I would smash my beta tape? If you don't stop I will tell the mods on your rude behavior.

No, no, no, no, no...

It's not you who I think would smash the tape. Another user on this forum had television recordings of every DBZ episode broadcast on Toonai in it's edited form. Another user approached said user to borrow the tapes. After a feud with a third party about sharing the contents of the tape, the user who borrowed the tapes smashed them so no one could access them again, even the original user of the tape.

I was never accusing you of smashing the tapes, I just wanted to let you know other users might do the same to you if you lent the actual tape out like history has shown us.

Both. If you share the tape with a user, I would be worried about the tape's well being if you intend to get it back. Honestly, if you absolutely had to share the contents of the tape, I would recommend doing it yourself and sharing the file. That way, you wouldn't be risking losing the tape to a greedy user.

As for the file, I'm going to call out Balish and Clutchins. Both users try to run monopolies of rare VHS recordings on another forum known for sharing such things. They usually do this by getting files and/or tapes off lucky users who happen to have them in their possession and holding the hostage from other users who are also looking for them. I could even give you a video example of this in PM if you want. Me personally, I couldn't care less about this movie but those two users would do almost anything to make sure they get the movie and no one else. This has caused nothing but drama and honestly, I would rather not see a repeat of previous events. If the rules of this forum didn't prohibit file sharing, I would urge you to share the movie with the general public as a whole instead of one particular user who doesn't want to share.

Just my two cents on the matter. Since you're new here, you wouldn't be likely to know the history of these two users. And judging from their rather immediate replies here, I would be wiling to bet they have both sent you PMs in attempts of getting the contents of the tape from you.

Lol, you could just buy the movie at the store it just doesn't have the beta music. You are overreacting for no reason.

Unfortunately not. The broadcast version of this movie wasn't released on VHS or DVD, only the unedited versions were. I believe the version you recorded is very rare because of the edits and the alternate Faulconer score used. Believe it or not, there are users who obsess themselves for gathering these alternate versions.

I saw both versions they are the same but one has beta music. I would know this since I own the beta.

Hm... so the music score used throughout the movie is the same on both your recording of the broadcast and on the official home video releases?

If so, then my mistake. I've heard a lot about this movie having a different score on Toonami and Nickelodeon from said users, so I guess that's no longer the case.
